This light is terrible. Put a 15-inch device in the back of a 20-gallon tank and you'll see nothing but light because it's so dim. I thought it was stuck in 10% mode but the brightness button on the cable toggled to 5 levels of brightness and it works properly. But even at 100% you don't see a plastic plant or a fish. The timer function is great! And unless you're looking for a very well lit tank or a pop of color on the bottom as well as lighting up your tank this would be great but it was oddly bright like you can't look at it but kinda make up for it is so bright. The light becomes more bluish so you can't see the tank clearly at all. I bought these to replace the simple on/off light that came with my aquarium. My fish were startled by the light when I opened the curtains in the morning. Now I slowly adjust the light in the aquarium before waking up so that when they open the curtains they are already in the bright aquarium. This works very well.
