One of the best deals, glad I bought this.

Compared to version D sharp since 1.4 The drawing remained the same magical, often you don’ 1.2 competitor), again, unlike a shoe lens, therefore, when choosing a system, if you need a portrait, do not even hesitate.

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

For the price it could have less aberrations, this is the only thing that strains this glass, but the stylish bokeh, accurate color reproduction, this is not reportage glass, this is glass for staging, for portraits, it is simply not serious to compare it with reportage 24-70 2.8 here is one such example, the image temperature was preserved. For those who want this lens but don't have enough money, I recommend paying attention to the 85mm 1.8G, which I think is Nikon's first place in terms of

    Pros
    • 1) Maintaining a steady gaze of self-assurance.
    Cons
    • Sharp from 1.8 but not like not from 1.4, chromate at 1.4 is very strong in almost all situations, and it immediately chromates with blue and green and purple aberrations, and it's almost impossible to remove them in the RAV converter because almost any plot consists of these colors and by extinguishing aberrations.

A really necessary purchase, Im glad I found this product.

The lens is not smeared with honey, but it can be considered a photography tank. He knows his work and does it perfectly Excellent! I chose between 24-70 and I don’t regret buying 85 mm at all. The picture is very pleasing to the eye :) With its pros. + Very fast and bright lens. + Sharpness. + The smoothness of the focus, it is very nice to feel its easy move. + virtually no image distortion +one of the best and softest bokeh +when photographing, sometimes you can notice a slight spiral…

Wonderful selection of the best camera lenses

To be honest I don't see much difference in this compared to less expensive 1.8 lenses or other brands but I can say it's amazing to choose a lens for portrait photography as I work in the wedding industry

    Pros
    • Good product for the price
    Cons
    • Cable is shorter than other options

    Must be bought for portraits!

This lens takes portrait photography to a whole new level. I was inspired to buy this lens by a photographer named Dani Diamond. His portraits are fascinating. When you see what this lens is capable of, it's insane. Yes, a bit expensive and the lens is heavy. But the build quality and image sharpness are worth every penny spent.

    Pros
    • Easy to read control panel
    Cons
    • No instructions

    Better than Nikon 85mm f/1.8!

WOW! I used to have a Nikon 85mm f/1.8 but I sold it straight after I got the Nikon 85mm f/1.4. Super sharp with great bokeh! The only negative, the ONLY thing, is that I hate the lens hood. It snaps onto the lens well for storage, but when worn for actual use is very loose. Well, it snaps into place, but a small bump shakes it. All my other Nikon lens hoods are safe. Totally worth the money if you are looking for one of the best Nikon portrait lenses!

Excellent lens - camera and photo

I have been using excellent lenses (Hasselblad, Leica, Nikon) for 40 years. This is an excellent lens. Not as sharp as the sharpest Nikon lenses (like the 105 f1.4 or 200 f2) if you look VERY closely, but overall a great all-around and portrait lens for the D850. This required some fine-tuning of the focus, so don't neglect it. Relatively light and compact, excellent colors, creamy bokeh. There isn't a certificate authority that Lightroom doesn't take care of. I also used f1.8, also a very good

    Fantastic lens for DSLRs Lenses

There are no words for the shots this lens creates. Sharp enough even at 1.4 and it only gets better as you go down to 2.0 or lower. Some lower end counterparts work better on many lenses like 50mm (I like 50mm 1.8G better than 50mm 1.4G) but here I paid almost 3-4 times more for it than the equivalent 1.8G. If you love creamy bokeh, impressive isolation, great depth of field and more, then this lens is hard to beat. Focus speed is ok if not super fast, vignetting at f/1.4 is also manageable…

One of the best lenses ever

This lens replaces one of the best lenses ever, the legendary "cream machine". The new lens has everything like the old one, with fast AFS autofocus. One point I didn't notice in other reviews is the night light performance of this lens. Sagittal coma aberration is virtually non-existent even wide open, just like the older NOCT 55 f/1.2. If you want to take night shots of neon-lit cityscapes, this is the best lens out there right now. In terms of size, it's slightly larger than your regular…

Absolutely unbelievable. The best lens I've ever had.

This is probably the first review I've written in a long time that I want to give more than 5 stars. This lens is without a doubt the best lens I have ever attached to my camera. I have 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 28mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8 and have had a few others recently. For a professional photographer, lenses are key. I took this new lens out for the first time last night and was blown away by the quality of the images it produced. My other lens I used last night was a 24-70 2.8 and it doesn't compare

    Compared to 105DC: Lenses

These 85 1.4g and 105 DC are my favorite portrait lenses. I use the 85 indoors/low light and the 105DC mostly outdoors. The 85 has creamier bokeh (of course!) and the 105DC has slightly faster autofocus (both focus faster than the 24 1.4g and the Canon 85 1.2L). I once filmed indoor karate for kids and this 85 wasn't lazy enough to capture the flying moves. When set to F5 the 105DC focuses terribly quickly and I've noticed the same goes for the 85 which also focuses faster to F5 than the D700…

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

I use it on d800. There are practically no misses, very fast focus. I beat a series with a man running at me, not a single miss. There was also a series with a couple, an assistant threw leaves (such as autumn), the focus was on a couple. When one leaf hit the focus point, the lens focused on it and this shot with a sharp leaf. The next frame, the leaf flew away from the focus point, again the focus jumped to the faces. Excellent pattern on aperture 1.4, no worse than the competitor kenon 85…

    Pros
    • Aperture, sharp, bokeh, constructive (the trunk does not come out, like the canon 85 1.2), fast focus.
    Cons
    • didn't notice

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

Worth the D600. I immediately bought 2 lenses with a difference of 3 weeks - a portrait lens 85 and a permanent lens 24-70. I shot with a portrait lens on the street, in a bright room and a dark room with a flash. I can say with full responsibility - the pictures are freaky! Incredibly high quality, color reproduction - gorgeous! The only thing to get used to is the focal length, the object does not always fit into the frame (The thing is very large, much more than 50 fixes. I will note the…

    Pros
    • fast focus Relatively light in weight Cutting Working without flash in low light
    Cons
    • It is not always convenient to work indoors, especially in a small area Slower in focus than 24-70

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

Compared to version D sharp since 1.4 The drawing remained the same magical, often you don’t even understand where such a volume and such a riot of colors come from. A handsome man outwardly (unlike 1.2 competitor), again, unlike a shoe lens, this one is not so heavy. Competitors are equal in quality of drawing, therefore, when choosing a system, there was no longer embarrassment about the lenses. In general, if you need a portrait, do not even hesitate.

    Pros
    • Dense color, bokeh, speed
    Cons
    • Price, but as they say.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

A high-quality, fast and self-sufficient portrait lens for leisurely and creative shooting. In conjunction with the Nikon D800 - a great tandem. Having a Nikon 70-200mm f / 2.8G ED AF-S VR II lens, I always felt like indulging in the 85th, and now, finally, I decided to purchase it. The picture quality is comparable in beauty to 70-200 and even a little more artistic, but a decisive and undoubted plus is the aperture ratio, which allows you not to bother in low light conditions. Well, the…

    Pros
    • 1. The exceptional beauty of the drawing. 2. Aperture! 3. Build quality and performance in general. 4. Comfortable balanced shape.
    Cons
    • I think the arguments about the shortcomings of this lens are nothing more than whims.
