I have been using excellent lenses (Hasselblad, Leica, Nikon) for 40 years. This is an excellent lens. Not as sharp as the sharpest Nikon lenses (like the 105 f1.4 or 200 f2) if you look VERY closely, but overall a great all-around and portrait lens for the D850. This required some fine-tuning of the focus, so don't neglect it. Relatively light and compact, excellent colors, creamy bokeh. There isn't a certificate authority that Lightroom doesn't take care of. I also used f1.8, also a very good lens. I think f1.4 is a bit sharper at the same aperture. I very much doubt that this lens will disappoint you.
