Great light but poor production - ANOTHER NightRider died

UPDATE: I contacted NiteRider about the following situation and they immediately sent me a replacement bulb as it was still under warranty so that's great. It would have been nice if it hadn't broken in the first place. The new light has an additional mode of operation, it's good to hear they listen to customer feedback. I increased my rating by one star because of the good customer service. This is a very bright light but I just lost ANOTHER NiteRider product due to poor construction. I was…

  • Batteries included: FAST AND EFFICIENT CHARGING USB fully charged in 2 hours 15 minutes. When connected to the network, the LED indicator will change color from red to blue when fully charged.

Hell, check. Untested Build Quality, Battery Life, Untested

First of all, I love NR products! They are generally very well made and have great customer service. Unfortunately, I feel that NR missed the mark with this light. I have three requirements for bike lights: build quality; battery life and brightness. This lamp meets only one of these requirements. This light is very bright, but the battery only lasts a few hours. After my morning ride, I charged my Omega 300. The next morning the light was out so I couldn't use it. When I got home I charged it…

Pros
  • COMPLETE BICYCLE LIGHT SYSTEM comes with a 300 lumen daylight visible triple LED taillight, internal Li-polymer battery, seat post mount and USB cable for charging
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Poor charging port design/manufacturing will result in a reduced lifespan.

It was a great flashlight if it wasn't for the charging port design. From the beginning it was always very difficult to turn it on or off and it ended up bursting out of light. This is one of the brightest taillights. I enjoyed using this thing for about a year and really liked how noticeable it was when driving day and night. Battery life was excellent. I charged it and my headlight about once a week depending on how far I rode. Once the battery ran out before the end of my trip when I was…

Pros
  • BATTERY INDICATOR When the device is off, the indicator flashes blue to indicate that the battery level is over 20%. And turns red when below about 20% left.
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

OMG Freaking Retina Burning Bright!

Holy Cow Batman, they stole a bat lantern and hung it on a bike! I still see spots when I look at him indirectly. I've read reviews about water issues so I suspect it doesn't work well in the rain. I plan to install it under the rear pillar and waterproof it. I'm looking where I can buy a small amount of a special electronics waterproofing gel. With this I can just open it and close the circuits, problem solved. If not, I can tape the seam. Cover the button with a piece of plastic from a bag…

Pros
  • DAYLIGHT VISIBLE FLASH FOR ENHANCED RIDER SAFETY, 6 hour runtime with maximum light for long journeys. Driving with a bright rear light is just as important during the day as it is at night.
Cons
  • Crumpled

I apologize for any typos as I accidentally performed eye laser surgery the first time I turned on the device. Make sure the device is facing away from you when you press the button. Much brighter than my Solas 100, has more light modes and is used in addition to Garmin RTL515 8-65 lumen flashlights (20 steady, 8 peloton, 29 night flashes, 65 day flashes). Make sure the device is fully secured. I read some of the comments that they lost it on the first ride. When I first installed mine it…

Pros
  • QUICK BELT; allows you to instantly remove the light from the mount, leave the mount on the seatpost and be ready for the next ride. Ideal and very useful when parking/parking your bike.
Cons
  • Not sure

Excellent light, limited mounting options, short battery life

I like the light itself. It's bright and people notice it. I've had good luck with previous Niterider flashlights so I really expected this to be a great flashlight. Unfortunately, a flashlight cannot be better than its mounting system when it comes to mounting the flashlight. what the hell were they thinking? Niterider makes a lot of Sentinel and Solas flashlight mounts, and Omega looks like it could fit one of those mounts, but no, it doesn't. As far as I can tell the mount that comes with…

Pros
  • QUICK/EASY INSTALLATION, no tools required Place the seatpost strap attachment on the seatpost, wrap the strong strap for a secure fit. The seatpost strap attachment is angle adjustable to fine the direction of light emission vote.
Cons
  • Periodicity

Incredibly bright but very short battery life

I have had several expensive ($300) lamps for NiteRider helmets and mountain bike handlebars and their quality is generally top notch . I currently use a 60 lumen Axiom taillight for road riding so I was excited to see that NiteRider released a 300 lumen taillight specifically designed for daytime road riding at a very reasonable price of £49 US dollar was developed. A 5x increase in light output for just $10 seemed like an amazing deal. And the taillight is really blindingly bright, even…

Pros
  • POWERFUL AND LIGHT ONLY 79 GRAMS, total weight includes taillight and seatpost belt mount
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Very bright, short battery life. UPDATE: Died 11 months later.

UPDATE: I'm downgrading this review from two stars to one star. He died about 11 months later. Nearing the end of the warranty but I didn't try to rush to see if the NiteRider lasted a year. All in all a piece of junk at this price point and a disgrace for what is considered a leader in the bike light industry. My other NiteRider taillights were better, the issue being another hard-to-turn switch (I sent the first Omega 300 back to have it replaced because of the same issue, but didn't mention…

Pros
  • LIMITED LIFETIME, which covers all defects in mechanical components (cases, covers, brackets and supports) and LEDs.
Cons
  • price up

Pros: Super bright Cons: Battery life and mount

I am a Lumen bike enthusiast with thousands of kilometers of night riding experience and dozens of lights including from: Lupine, Light and Movement, Katya, Serfas, Tsigolit, Dinotte, Lezin, Axiom, Planet Bike etc. This light could do a lot be better, but unfortunately it is not. I bought two of these lights primarily for use on kids bikes and my experience with BOTH lights is the same. We often cycle to and from sports in the evening and often come home in the dark. Pros: 1) This light is…

  • MULTIPLE LIGHT MODE SELECTION 2 levels of constant light: LOW at 30 hours of use and HIGH at 5.5 hours. Plus 3 daylight flash modes QUICK FLASH @ 6 hours, DISCO FLASH @ 8 hours and BURST FLASH @ 6 hours.
Cons
  • Faulty
