Noctua really got it right with this fan

Wow. I was curious to see if this fan is as good as they claimed, so I bought it to test on my NH-U14S cooler. It absolutely outperforms the included (and larger) NF-A15 PWM fan. Don't get me wrong, this fan is also very good, but its static pressure is nowhere near the same as the NF-A12x25. In general, the higher the static pressure, the better the performance in tight spaces (like CPU coolers and heatsinks). I also replaced the stock quad anti-vibration pads and installed the included…

Super quiet!: Computers and accessories

Wow, these things are quiet! They replace the hard to beat Corsair ML120 Pro. But these are better! If you read other reviews that confuse static pressure and airflow, let me help you with an automotive analogy: static pressure is like torque and airflow is like horsepower. These fans have high static pressure, which allows them to reliably direct air to difficult objects such as heatsinks, filters, and near the sides of the case. They are not designed to move tons of air quickly. If you want…

THE TAMED Beast KNOWN AS i9

I HAVE IT. They're not crazy about the color scheme, and $29 for a fan is crazy, but I used a Corsair h100i and while the heatsink was awesome, the fans were. Less than fantastic. Switching to two of these bad boys solved all my problems, what problems did it solve? The temperature of the i9 dropped a lot. I'd say around 10%, but it just got better and better as the speed increased. This has to do with the design of the blades and how much air pressure they actually produce. (So 33c now worked…

Low noise adapter? You won't need it.

I don't know why Noctua bothered to even bother with a low noise adapter for this fan, it's quieter at 2000rpm than my 140mm IndustrialPPC fans at half speed. It replaced two - yes, two - NF-F12 IndustrialPPC 120mm push-pull on the Scythe Mugen 5, cools a Ryzen 5 1600X (4.03GHz/1.39375V) and maintains roughly the same all-core load temperatures (58.8 degrees). Celsius at an ambient temperature of 23 C) as in the previous setting. The main difference here is the noise; You can only imagine how…

Unmatched Performance and Invaluable Value

Update April 14, 2019: My build circumstances have changed. I've switched to open loop with (2) 480mm x 60mm radiators and in a pull only configuration I'm using NF-A12x25 PWM fans to control airflow. I have two more NF-a12x25 fans with separate exhaust and 900rpm on my hinge, my 2700x and 2080 Ti cool silently. These fans with thick 60mm radiators are truly amazing in terms of noise and flow, especially in the 700-1300 RPM range. I can barely hear all 10 from 3 feet away at 1200 RPM, but they…
