Built like a tank, good for kitchen utensils and gadgets

Bought this juicer a few years ago. This thing is built like a tank and I use it a lot. You'd think someone misplaced it from the 1950s. Has a perfectly finished appearance. No rust, no discoloration, no breakage, no cheap veneer, no plastic parts - and everything works great. I consider it a relic of quality. You can pass it on to your children.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Still working after ten years of use

My daughter had a crappy juicer on her wedding list so I went to Revain to find my awesome juicer (this one). I realized that I bought this juicer in May 2011. She is wonderful and continues to stand the test of time. I used another juicer at my mom's house - same type but yellow, and mine is much more powerful and heavier. I probably use it 1 or 2 times a week so I might add that to find out how long it lasts and counts. Regarding the reviews: I had no rust. No bending (God I don't see how…

  • Shipping was very fast

There has to be a better juicer out there.

This thing would be nice if it didn't have the dummy screw holding the hinge together. For the first two weeks of use, the screw kept sliding sideways and falling out, causing the hinge to bend and completely lose function. Luckily I took it to Ace Hardware and found a better bolt to hold it together and bend the hinge back into a straight working position. Now it works perfectly, since then it hasn't been broken or bent. It gets the job done, but a really easy improvement would be to add more…

Better than alternatives

I juice a lot of citrus fruits. About 20-30 sips a day at a good restaurant. Aluminum alternatives work equally well with any part, but have huge disadvantages. First, they are colored. The citric acid will eat away at the paint and cause it to flake off from the inside. I've never noticed color in a drink, but I find that it's gone on the juicer. Provided it lasts that long. I don't know why the handles break. They usually last about 6 months. This product has lasted me 9 years and still…

SAVE MONEY - Fruit and Vegetable Tools

*****UPDATE 11/01/2014***** The rivet connecting one half of the juicer to the other broke yesterday. Reading the recent reviews of this juicer, one would assume that this is a COMMON problem. I have contacted NORPRO to see if they will replace my faulty unit and will update this review when I hear from them. *****ORIGINAL REVIEW***** a few years. Both were enameled yellow. Both died the same death: chipping and cracking of the enamel, which got progressively worse with repeated use. This time…

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Bigger, more powerful but probably won't stand the test of time

This is definitely an upgrade from the usual cheap aluminum citrus juicers that broke after about 20 ounces of juice. After reading a review from a person who has been using (and continues to use) this for over two years I should have gotten it as it was made out of stainless steel which is a notch higher. One of the perks for me was that it was supposed to be solid stainless steel. Look, these are the words of people who have actually bought and tried these products, not just marketing babble.

Pros
  • a handy part
Cons
  • So far so good
