🎨 Quart-sized Nuvo Cabinet Paint Topcoat - 31 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) Review

I used this after painting my kitchen cabinets with the Nuvo kit. Looks great. I'll update the review on how easy it is to clean once I start using the kitchen again.

I used Nuvo Cabinet paints to paint the entire kitchen. The base cabinets are painted in Oxford Blue and the wall cabinets in Titanium Infusion. The online video instructions were very helpful and I was done in about 4 days (clear coat included). A clear coat is optional but adds a nice shine (which makes cleaning easier).

Cabinet paint works great. I figured I'd protect my finish and get a glossy shine with a top coat. The top coat is almost bubbling over the paint, it hasn't dried. Very disappointing for the high price. I'm not sure if it's the color or if I'm doing something wrong. This is the only Nuvo product that has let me down 😔

Our cabinets turned yellow after everything was done even though they were cooked according to directions! Went on strangely, running and bubbling. I had to dismantle and reload the cabinets! Very disgusting! A lot of work and time has gone into it and it's still not great. NEVER recommend top coat! The paint itself lays down very well, with little mileage.

I used a cabinet kit there then bought the top gloss then found it wasn't needed I would have just bought the semi gloss paint at the hardware store and it would have been done in a step or two instead of the five I needed and much more expensive with these kits than regular paint.

I do not recommend this product to anyone. I painted my cabinets their titanium white color and it turned out great. However, I decided to take it a step further and add a top coat to give it a nice shine. Instead, after drying, I ended up with a yellow, muddy, oily appearance. now i have to sand down all my cabinets and drawers AGAIN and paint everything back to the original white which actually looked very nice.

I am new to DIY projects and the original paint set came with all the tools and instructions and everything went smoothly. Some reviews said the paint could be easily damaged so I bought this top coat for protection. The top coat protects very well and I like its semi-gloss sheen. The only thing I can say is that I have no personal experience with top coat, epoxy etc and just had to apply this coat as the instructions are really minimal. I bought this protector in the middle of a cabinet painting project. We painted the first half of our cabinets without it and noticed some of the paint was peeling off from heavy use. After reading page after page of suggestions I found this. My main concern was that since we painted our cabinets white, the protectant wouldn't yellow over time.
