Ideal for: Tools and gear

Used to measure 2.5x in my 2009 Escape XLS. The short crankshaft pin was perfect and the camshaft plate fitted snugly into the camshaft alignment slots. I strongly recommend that you do not apply excessive force to the plate by pushing it in or turning the cams once engaged, it is a soft metal that warps easily.

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

does not fit all Ford 2.0L engines

The leveling rod did not fit the camshafts on my Ford Focus 2.0L 16V dohc ztec. It was only used as a reference for alignment. However, the connecting rod fit and worked as intended. So overall I used this pack 50%. Hope this helps the next buyer. I have not returned this item as it could be used in any way.

  • Happy at the moment

Helped fix my Mazda 6's jump timing

My daughter's car had a camshaft sensor error. In short, the camshaft turned a little and the car failed. I was able to use this tool to realign the cams. After that that was done (along with new valve cover gaskets). The car started immediately, CEL went out. Is worth the money and does not have to be sent to a workshop. 2005 Mazda 6 with 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Requires socket

It costs money, and then something

Takes all the guesswork out of it. Have used it on four cars. TIP: If possible, the crank thread stopper has a longer bushing hex head than necessary. This part can interfere with the exhaust on some vehicles. 3 of the 4 models I worked on required a lot of prying to get the part in place to bolt it on. If sanded down 1/4 inch or more it should slip for all vehicles. Although a great tool.

  • Quality construction

Works great with tools and equipment

Works great for my 2.3 on my ranger (Mazda engine). I would suggest going to a hardware store and matching the tool's thread pattern to the individual screw. Then make sure the bolt is long enough for the same depth as the pin you need to use. You can then paint mark the bolt and use spacers, and use the bolt to hold the crank in place while you tighten it to a horrendous 200+ foot-pounds of torque. It worked very well for me, it didn't need a second hand. Used the pin after tightening to check

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Quality
