I had to cut off the end of this brush because it was too thick to fit the neck of my carafe. To use it as is, the neck of the carafe should be just over 1.5 inches wide. (Really?!?!? Thanks for nothing, oenophilia). Reattach the styrofoam to the exposed metal. Once I did that, the brush went down the neck of the carafe and I could still use it to clean the hard-to-reach spots on the bottom. many more are available that might do the job.
