Excellent DSLRs - DSLR cameras

This camera is an upgrade of my e500 that I own. The characteristics this has compared to my other camera is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable DSLR.

Great camera for the professional or advanced hobbyist.

I like this camera. I bought it as an upgrade from the E-510. I've been using Olympus cameras for about five years now and have always been impressed by their build quality and image quality. I use a mix of Olympus and Sigma lenses. The level of customization that Olympus cameras allow has gotten out of control. You can fine-tune each focal point for multiple lenses with different focal lengths! Although this is a very advanced feature that I'm sure not many people use. The only thing currently

Camera and Photo Review E-30

As a dedicated Olympus user I added the E-30 to the E-3, E-620 and E-510. The E30 is very similar to the E3 and is very easy to use right out of the box. An increase from 10MP to 12MP is welcome, but not a reason to upgrade. The E30 isn't weatherproof like the E3. For most people, this isn't a deal breaker either. Image quality is typical of Olympus cameras with very good JPEGs straight out of the camera. So far the E3 and E30 are great partners to add to your arsenal. As an enthusiast, I…

Amazing upgrade best in DSLR cameras

I won't add much to the content - much has already been written about the camera in terms of technical details. But if you have an older Oly E-series DSLR, it's time to step up. I really enjoyed my E-500 and I have to say I learned a lot with this camera and it took me a while to get used to DSLR photography and all the controls. I don't think the E-510 or E-520 were worth the jump, although in many ways they are improvements over the E-500 (and its E-300/330 predecessor). The E-620 came out…

Big and Durable - Digital Cameras

This camera is beautiful to look at and so easy to hold. He is well built; there is nothing cheesy or contrived about it. In fact, it's pretty big and heavy compared to DSLRs these days. Had she been weatherproof (and had a titanium chassis) she would have been a replacement for the flagship Olympus E-3. What takes Olympus cameras from good to great is the glass: Zuiko Digital (ZD) lenses are some of the best in the solar system. Since the Olympus line of digital SLRs are 4/3 format (the sensor

A few years with an E30 DSLR

My E30 was bought in 2010 to replace the venerable E500 without image stabilisation. I paired the E30 with an Olympus Zuiko 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Digital ED SWD lens for Olympus DSLRs, which is an excellent lens. Olympus wide-angle digital SLR cameras - mainly indoor interiors and landscapes. At long focal lengths it has some distortion, but this can easily be corrected in the Olympus Master II software. With the Olympus MF-1 OM lens adapter, I can use my manual range of lenses, but I have to rely…

A huge step up from the Consumer line!

After using the E-410 for about a year I saw the E-30 and was curious to switch to the Prosumer line. After about 4 months with this body I couldn't be happier. As a sports shooter, integrated image stabilization, a good burst mode and fast controls are a must. I'm happy to report that all 3 are strong. Shooting at 5 fps ensures I capture exactly the moment I want (fantastic for hockey or lacrosse bat hits), and the 10 fps buffer gives me a lot of flexibility. Of course, a fast CF card also…
