Type of review

I bought this camera because I got tired of lugging around 12 pounds of Canon gear on long arduous hikes in the mountains to take nature and landscape photos. I also chose the E-M5 over the newer E-M1 because I didn't need the extra features or increased weight and bulk of its new sibling, and here at Revain the E-M5 is available for almost half the price. Price E-M1. He showed excellent results. Dynamic range was excellent when shooting in RAW format (recommended as always). The detail is…

Read this AFTER your purchase OM-D

What a fantastic camera! The first thing I suggest is to update the firmware. Most likely the camera you received does not have the latest firmware. I had version 1.2 and upgraded to 1.5. Version 1.2 makes a soft hiss every time you turn it on. This is because image stabilization is always active when the camera is on. In version 1.5 it is only active when the trigger is pressed. Absolutely Amazing Camera

I don't have time to write a review that adequately describes all the charms of this camera. So I'll be brief. I have upgraded from Nikon D5100. The image quality of the photos taken with the OM-D is better than anything I've ever taken with a Nikon and I really like this camera. PROS: 1.) Incredible ISO performance in low light. I can shoot jpg at ISO 6400 with little to no noticeable noise. ISO 6400 is roughly equivalent to ISO 1600 on the D5100 in my opinion, based on thousands of shots with

Wonderful! A small but important step forward for Micro Four Thirds

First a little background: This is the fourth (!) Micro Four Thirds camera I own. First I bought an Olympus Pen E-P2 (almost release date), then an Olympus PEN E-PM1 and finally a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2. I also had an Olympus PEN E-P3 for a while, but eventually switched to an E-PM1. fully justify the promises of the system. I always wanted more; In the case of the PEN, the sensor wasn't exactly where I wanted it to be in low light, and an external flash defeats the whole purpose of such a…
