Works, but I would try a different manufacturer.

He started us, but the intake manifold is too short. 1/4 tank is empty. It came with a screen that moved it deeper, but it was too long to fit in the tank so I couldn't use it. I needed the car to run more than I have to worry about 1/4 gas so we're forced to use it anyway.

  • An absolute legend

  • There are disadvantages

1973 CJ5 Jeep 15 Gallon Tank Direct replacement

I bought this for my 1973 CJ5 Jeep after visiting several auto parts stores near my home and most of them had no idea what I was talking about, when he asked about a fuel supply unit. You could order me one but it would need modification to make it work so I went with this one. And no surprises, perfect fit and no modifications, what-is-eva. So far the Omix-Ada has been a blessing to my Jeep.

Pros
  • Hands free work
Cons
  • Slightly torn

When the gearbox arrived the first thing I noticed was that it looked bent at the sealing edge. The float arm felt sticky at the bottom of the stroke (idle), probably because the mechanism was too tight. I put my voltmeter across the terminals and it read correctly in ohms. The new one is coming tomorrow and we'll see if it fits.

Pros
  • Durable paint
Cons
  • Empty

Check before you drop your tank!

I ran a quick bench test on this new out of the box unit. Using an ohmmeter, I bent the bottom tab a little to make sure the 73 ohm resistor was dead. The same goes for the full 10 ohms. As I started raising the float I got 33 ohms at half a tank (good), then it jumped to 80 ohms at 3/4 tank (bad), then as I moved further the ohms reading was all over the place. At full load it reaches 10 ohms. Om readings are everywhere. That's why you replace the fuel delivery unit

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Speed

Works but needs adjustment

I give it 3 stars because while it works I had to fiddle with it to make it work. When I first took it out of the box I put it on my multimeter to make sure the resistance was right. Have found it reads all over the place, has no "smooth" swing. I bent the wiper arm more and had to do a little work to figure out the right tension to make it work, but I got it to work. I installed it about a month ago and it's still working, but I wouldn't be surprised if it fails tomorrow.

Didn't come with the nasal filter

I ordered this transfer unit some time ago and when the nasal filter which goes to the intake manifold before putting the unit in the tank didn't arrive in the box I immediately emailed CSE Offroad , and they asked me to send them a picture of the contents of the box which I did, they checked their stock and realized the seller had made a mistake and sent several with no filter. CSE worked with the supplier, installed the sock filters and shipped me the missing sock filters. The nose filter is…

Replacement Fuel Delivery Unit

I replaced the fuel delivery unit in my Jeep CJ with this unit along with a compatible fuel gauge, temperature sensor and temperature delivery unit. Works perfectly . The hardest part was resetting and reinstalling the fuel tank, but this has been done many times on cars. Do yourself a favor and drain the tank, just because it's a 15-gallon tank and it may not be full doesn't make it any easier to rig the skid plate back onto the Jeep. Before removing the old block, use a compressed block to…
