Not suitable for spare parts

The bipod only half presses the slot on the steering gear. I used an 18" breaker and the farther it pushes against the wedges.

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Worse than stock

Bought this part for a Jeep TJ. It was loose and continued to loosen after just a day or two of riding. I put on the Mopar arm and it fit well and there were no issues.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

More or less similar to OEM.

As advertised. The splines are initially tight on the steering shaft, requiring some force to properly and securely engage the sprocket nut. I think I tightened the nut to almost 250 ft/lb to get it seated properly.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Fits like one. Pitman's new hand.

Actually there is not much to say. That's a pitman's hand. Had to buy a new one when replacing the steering box on my 1998 Wrangler as it was impossible to remove the old one from the old box. I'd better get a new one anyway. The 4WD gear was delivered quickly and I received it in 3 days. The price was right. No complaints here!

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good price and does the job

I have a 98 TJ with a 4" lift and when this lift was installed a fold down support was added. Because the Jeep is older, I recently replaced the steering and immediately afterwards I felt a death wobble I haven't experienced in 15 years. The drop link arm didn't seem to work with my new steering, so I replaced it with an OEM style. So far so good, no more wobble and steering is good.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Nothing

Good factory replacement

After jacking up my 2000 TJ 5.5" I installed the connecting rod that came with it. The steering wheel jerked from place to place. I replaced the connecting rod with this and it solved my steering problems. It's durable and seems to be close to factory stock, I've had no problems with it.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Not bad but...

BUY INSTEAD OF THE OEM PART!

Traction installed on my Wrangler 97 with power steering. The lever does not slide completely on the output shaft. When the nut and washer are tightened, the shaft does not extend beyond the nut by approximately 1 thread. At least 3 threads should stick out. It just doesn't go any further! Save yourself the headache and buy a mopar OEM part. Not that much more expensive. The miner's hand is too important to be cheapened.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Quality

Surprised how often people put fallen levers on raised ones.

I'm surprised at how often people put bipeds on raised wranglers. My TJ had a drop with a 4" riser and it definitely wasn't necessary. Make sure your chain and linkage are parallel and in the same arc. Installed this arm to replace a dropped bipod arm and it performs very well positive results Difference I didn't realize how strong the steering was until I replaced it.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • So-so

Slightly inferior to 2006 Rubicon Splines

As many have said, on my 2006 Rubicon steering box it will catch about halfway through the splines before bottoming out. This is a picture of him with the anti-seize and the nut tightened to 185 ft-lbs. I removed the Pitman arm and heated it in a vise with a gas torch for about 1 minute. I slipped it back over the splines and got an extra turn on the nut after tightening it. The arm is now about 2/3 the length of the slots. Lets see what happens. The stock bipod arm was about 2 turns higher…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Negative is present
