Essential for phaser work

Very well built and matches the cam phaser teeth perfectly, I wouldn't be able to do my phaser job without this tool. It holds the phaser very tightly so it can be tightened to specification. without damaging them, absolutely recommended

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Will not fit all

Cam/Phaser tool fits tool kits

When pulling cams or phasers you will need a chain wedge. It works great. If you don't pull the front cover, the second tool is not needed. This will attach the phase shifter to the front of the motor through the mounting holes on the front cover.

Just get it. for tools and equipment

Another great tool for a Ford 5.4 3 valve that I needed to replace the timing kit and shifters. I couldn't have done it so easily without tools. It's worth it. Since I had already removed the front cover I didn't need to use another piece of "cheese" to hold the chain in place, but I did use the phaser holder a few times.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Works as intended - tools and equipment

Works as advertised. Often used, there is a store. It is not possible to use the cam sprocket holder without the front timing cover making the other part of the tool redundant. The "cheese wedge" works well, but I think its use puts undue stress on the chain guides/tensioner shoes, which can lead to stress cracking and premature guide failure. In the end, this gives you new cam phasers without the need for a complete timing adjustment. Used many cars - all day. Your personal car - get it right…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Small details
