The original bearings were bad and made a loud hum when turning

The original bearings were bad and made a loud hum when turning, so they will be replaced. I will update over time but initially they work fine. I looked at the original fans that came with the MacBook and it looks like they are from the same manufacturer, Delta Electronics. They fit and look just like the OEM ones and are just as quiet as the originals when the laptop was new as far as I can tell with mine to my ears. Calm.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

They work and are silent. But definitely aftermarket and lower quality.

I bought these to replace a rattling fan that normal cleaning couldn't fix. It was a bearing failure or something. Anyway, I bought them because it seemed like people were saying they were factory made, but they are clearly not original and definitely lower quality than the originals. The originals have aluminum bezels and real metal parts, but are mostly plastic and much lighter than the originals. You still installed great and achieved the ultimate goal of quiet running and efficient cooling.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Cheap junk. Computer Components at its Finest

*MBPR 2012 15" (left fan only replaced) Original fans are quiet and have a steel case (for proximity to high heat). Padarsay replacement fan cases are made entirely of plastic and bracket Holes that DO NOT MATCH. After two of the three mounting screws are installed (they are aligned) you can see the entire fan case flexing in a distorted manner because it is misaligned. Installing the third to last mounting screw causes the plastic case to flex even more and it took (see photo) the plastic tab…

Perfect fan replacement

My 2014 MacBook Pro sometimes made a rattling noise and overheated. I replaced the top left fan with this Padarsey replacement and my MacBook Pro now runs cool. In addition, there is no more "rattling noise". The fan kit I bought is called "Padarsey Replacement Left and Right CPU Fans for 15" Apple MacBook Pro A1398". If you look at the attached picture, you can see that the manufacturer name of the replacement fan the same as the original fan that was in my macbook pro it was the perfect…

Maglev train camp! on Fans & Cooling

This is the third time I have had to replace the left fan in my 2011 17" MacBook Pro, the first time for the right fan. These fans are compared to Very quiet to original and earlier replacement parts. As other replacement parts have been the result of noisy squeaky bearings I have high hopes for these Padarsey maglev mounted units. But for the price if I get a few years from them it will be a good investment due to their reasonable cost. Use both fans while you have your case open and exposing…

  • Stylish and Modern Design
Cons

[EDIT] Not so quiet.

EDIT: So, like my previous review said, I thought the noise from one of the fans was user error. BUT after using my MacBook, as I usually do a few days after installing a fan, there is a faint but definitely audible rattling noise coming from the new fan. When my room is quiet and I'm not typing or clicking the mouse, that noise is there, right next to the new fan. It's not too annoying, but it's definitely NOT OEM quality. I am changing my rating. Fits perfectly on my 15" Retina MacBook Pro…

Cheap junk.

*MBPR 2012 15" (changed only the left fan) that are NOT aligned. After two of the three mounting screws are in place (they are aligned) you can see how the Das Entire fan housing flexes distortedly because it is not level Installing the third to last mounting screw will further bend the plastic of the housing and it was necessary (see photo) to cut the plastic tab on the side to allow the screw to even fit in the hole Fortunately, this particular screw (all individual machine screws have…
