The most attractive weather seal available

We used this seal on our previous door for 12 years. This year we decided to buy a new mahogany door and put a new door base in it. I think that's the prettiest door seal. Works perfectly when assembled correctly, but needs a good carpenter.

Pros
  • The plunger requires a slight closing force of undefinedFeatherTouchundefined to actuate the valve stem seal. The "L" at the end of all product numbers stands for "Low Closing Force".
Cons
  • Little things

It goes down unevenly. Foam comes off the first time.

When I adjust the plunger so that the seal goes to the sill, the seal on the hinge side hits the window sill and the seal falls well past the door opening. Close the door fully each time it breaks the foam from the bead. If I press the seal against the bottom of the door and drop it after closing the door, it fills the gap completely.

Pros
  • Sizes available from 18" to 72"
Cons
  • Some problems

It is necessary to cut a large groove in the bottom of the door.

I don't think it was mentioned in the description. I'm sure it will work fine once installed, just didn't expect such a big job. In fact, it was thought that you would have to remove and install part of the length of the door. I have the tools to do the work that needs to be done. Not everyone will…

form and function. fits gear

This automatic door shoe was perfect for my application. I had a client who didn't want a threshold at the entrance of his home because of the tile work that went from the outside in. I needed something that would fall down when the door was closed so dirt and grime wouldn't get in when it was closed. When opening the door, the door shoe had to be raised a good 1/4 inch to eliminate discrepancies in the tile design and avoid scratching the tile surface. It did just that and is configurable for…

Pros
  • When the piston hits the post, the flapper seal engages on the hinge side first, creating multiple compression points.
Cons
  • Some little things
