Do it yourself

I used to have an invisible fence in another house. This professionally installed service can be nice if you're unsure, and installers can usually teach you to dig to the fence, but in my experience none of this is required. Is it expensive. It's not like this. I also like that this system is battery operated. This allows installation without having to drill a hole in the house wall to install the transformer indoors next to the socket. It also means you can place it like a real loop without…

Good concept but picky

We received this after two other brands didn't fit. We had to start PetSafe because we had friends who were using their devices successfully. They provide more "charge" for this stubborn dog. The best part is that there is an infinite "zone of charge" that extends beyond the wire. So if the dog is willing to endure a few seconds of "load" to get out of the fence, he'll keep clicking. No matter how far the dog goes. This device was very effective for keeping our stubborn dog in the garden. We…

Better than a basic wired system

I have a basic wired system in my big yard and I use this wireless system in my front yard. I created a smaller zone for this and the setup is very similar to the base system. With the wireless connection, I had more space to place my battery powered system. I anchored it to the base of a large maple tree where it marks the right edge of the border. The base system uses 10 D batteries, which is plenty for D batteries but should expect to last about a year. I recommend buying a good brand name…

The tedious setup is worth it!

The installation of the perimeter wire required a significant amount of work to meet our needs. We used a pickaxe to dig a 1 to 3 inch deep trench. Check the instruction manual for more installation tool ideas. We also used about 400 feet of perimeter wire and there was plenty of wire left on the spool. The instructions are dense but necessary to set up the system properly. I had no major problems setting up the main power supply or collar receiver. A small issue we had was that the direction…

Which model to buy? PetSafe YardMax Cordless vs. PetSafeBasic:

You may be wondering if the wireless invisible fence is the additional $120 over the base two dog model or the additional $205 more than the base one dog kit dog is worth ? Let's compare the similarities and differences: COLLARS: The main collar is lightweight and suitable for dogs weighing 8 pounds. and up. The upgraded collar for the cordless model is suitable for dogs weighing 5 pounds. and up. Therefore it is more versatile for small dogs and also if your future plans are puppies. However…

Neutral Color Radio Transmitter

My dog is hooked on using an electric fence used . We have one at home and he knows his limits and how far he can go. It works great on the system. When the weather turns, my husband and I enjoy hiking in the cooler weather. We used to always keep the dog on a leash. This is really not pleasant for us and the dog. It becomes a problem and stress. He also doesn't have the freedom to roam and explore like he usually did when he was a pup. Having previously installed a fence in the dungeon, I…

Top of the line! The most elegant and lightest solution.

This is a top system. The lightweight rechargeable receiver is ideal for small dogs. The battery powered transmitter simplifies installation, no need to hunt for a place to plug it in. We had a wired pet fence a few years ago and I'm happy to report that the technology has come a long way since then. was easy enough once we decided exactly where to place it. This was a little tricky as we didn't want to run the wire all over the outside of the house, we wanted the dog to go through the back…
