who loves drops for cartridges

The product was much cheaper than on site, delivered quickly and in its original packaging. It was an exact replacement for the original that lasted 26 years! Very easy to install with hand tools in about 15 minutes. It would be even faster if I had to do it all over again. Good business.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Disappearance

Easy to install and good replacement

Our old faucet started leaking and they no longer make the exact same cartridge but Pfister has listed it as a replacement. We loved the performance of our faucet and it's in great condition so it was a great way to keep what we loved and bring back the functionality. It only took about 30 minutes to put in a new cartridge, everything works fine, there are no more spots. In fact, the faucet is easier to turn on and adjust as the mechanism in the new cartridge seems to slide more easily.

  • Sleek design

Pfister 9740350 Genesis Series 26 Sub Assembly Cartridge

Our Pfister "The Marielle" kitchen faucet purchased in 2003 required a new cartridge but the original (#974-074) has been discontinued and is expected to be a 9740350 replacement. BUT. it doesn't fit because the bottom diameter is about 1/16 inch larger than the original. I called Pfister and they said 9740350 was the correct one and the only one available. I started looking for the original and finally found one on my local Ace hardware that is a replica. Installed and the faucet works again.

Easy to fit and quality replacement part

The hard part was getting the handle off - finding the right size and fitting the Allen key was the hardest part. My faucet came with a serrated top vinyl nut. A channel key was required to remove it. Replaced with a 9417110 Pfister brass lock nut well worth the investment. The only problem concerns the construction of the crane. The cartridge assembly has oval o-rings that press against the flat surface of the hot/cold/pressure fittings. It looks like you overtightened the locknut and…

Quick and easy best in rough plumbing

We had a broken cartridge in our old sink faucet and didn't want to replace the whole thing as we have a renovation planned for the spring. A parts search revealed that this faucet, delivered in 36 hours, assembled in 60 seconds and works better than ever. The breech is smooth and stays where you leave it while the old cartridge wears out almost to the point of turning it on or off. If you are removing an old cartridge be sure to order a brass replacement which comes with this unit's listing…

The product description states that this 974-035 is a replacement for the discontinued 974-570. On the left the old 974-570. Note the slightly different shape of the holes. First when I installed the new 974-035 it leaked and I wrote a negative review, now I got sucked in! It is important to ensure that the old seal is completely removed from the mixer with the old cartridge. (The new padding is the black rubber in the picture to the right.) Due to the different shape, you'll also have to…

Poor replacement with no other options

Each of these cartridges I buy from PricePfister for our kitchen faucet makes me feel like Charlie Brown knowing every time I try to hit the ball while Lucy keeps it going to prevent me from hitting the ball. Those of you who have this problem will understand what I'm talking about. These cartridges just don't last. And neither does this one. I'm still hoping to get a good one, even though I know it's probably not true. My guess is that the weight of the pen on the plastic of the cartridge…

Works, but in reverse order. . .

I have an old Price Pfister vanity faucet that uses a 974-505 cartridge that is no longer made. Price Pfister says it's a 974-035 replacement cartridge. This cartridge fits perfectly and works. However, there are two things: (1) Be careful when tightening the plastic nut that goes right over the cartridge. You must tighten it to prevent the cartridge from leaking. However, since this nut is plastic, you must be careful not to damage the threads on the outside of the nut. These external threads…
