📃 Efficient Scanning with the Plustek SmartOffice PS286 Plus Document Scanner Review

Excellent product. Very easy to use and creates exact copies. The software that comes with it is fine, but I prefer a different product that gives me more versatility.

I love this scanner, it saves me so much time! I can scan single-sided and double-sided documents one after the other and save them as one document. You can also edit PDF files.

Very upset that I spent so much on garbage. Half the time it doesn't grab the document properly and ends up folding it. and obviously leads to a bad scan. It also does a terrible job of capturing the true color of an image when you're trying to scan it. It's always very dark and hard to see.

This is my second time buying this little scanner. I worked for a company that ordered this scanner for my desk and when I left the company the new employer didn't have a desk scanner so I suggested this one as I was happy with it. I had a lot of experience with PlusTex technical support in setting up the operating system as well as my current PC. I recommend this scanner, it's a workhorse for its size. LOVE IT!

I received this product and it didn't work, it saved everything I scanned as a blank PDF or just a black screen. I sent it back and had to pay about $35 for return shipping along with about $13 which I paid for shipping when I bought it. Then FULL COLOR COPIER Inc. charged me a 20% restocking fee (for a defective product) of about $50. I lost about $98 in round trip shipping and restocking fees. I've been using this A LOT for about a year. We would go about 3 months between heavy use (about 200 pages front/back). I bought it for the OCR and duplex capability. I was mostly happy although he never behaved as expected. I'm very tech savvy so I had no problem with that. If I hadn't, I doubt I would have been so happy. I bought this scanner a month ago and out of 30 days of scanning I've been able to succeed 5 days in a row with no problems. The scanner mysteriously started to output a PDF file completely black.
