Description of Polyken 747 Marine Boat Shrink Packaging & Shipping Supplies
Polyken 747 Marine Boat Wrap Shrink Film Tape is used for taping off shrink wrap material, seaming pieces of shrink film, and minor repairs and maintenance primarily in the boat wrap industry. This tape is also described as poly patching tape and intended to be used to join seams of shrink wrap material together in larger applications, such as a boat or large machine. Polyken 747 has a synthetic rubber adhesive which ensures high tack for a quick stick, excellent shear strength, and is easily repositioned and removable from many surfaces. In addition, it can be used as a dissimilar metal barrier and as a short-term masking product for stucco and plaster applications. The polyethylene (PE) film backing of Polyken 747 Heat Shrink tape makes this tape conformable and flexible, has excellent durability and solvent resistance and provides low elongation for a consistent surface bond. Offered in blue, clear and white colors; and the blue and white colors are not completely opaque (can see sunlight through tape, but would not be able to read writing). Polyken 747 is typically applied to a heat shrink film product, but the heating torch should not be directed at the tape which may cause it to melt. Because the tape is in the vicinity of the heat, it is expected to crinkle a little bit to maintain its hold on the film. The shrink film has enough additives that the heat will not completely melt the tape. Polyken 747 is environmentally friendly and safe to use. This tape contains low volatile organic compounds (VOC) and contains no heavy metals, such as lead and chromium. Applications for Polyken 747 Marine Boat Wrap Heat Shrink tape include uses in the boat wrap industry and equipment storage and protection, heavy-duty polyethylene splicing and hanging, construction, bundling, wrapping, and repairs, and wire hold down (AV cord tape).
