This thing is a lifesaver for pulling big items, but you will have to anchor it somewhere as durable, like a bit tree or another car, etc. By itself, it will pretty much pull it's weight toward whichever heavy object it's trying to pull. This is a nice compact portable winch that's great to keep in your vehicle or around the house. While it will not pull out your stuck 3,000 lb SUV from a ditch, it will pull out a stuck ATV or use to load cargo onto a trailer. Just nice to have when you need a little extra manpower to move a load. Prefect for various tasks around the farm as well. You'll find a ton of uses for this little compact winch.

This works okay for small jobs. If you have a vehicle stuck in snow or something like that. It can also do heavy duty jobs for smaller vehicles like an ATV or lawn mower getting pulled out of mud or tipped over. The fact that it has a battery and is portable is great and makes it very flexible.
