Works as intended but will not fit T-tracks

Screws provided are standard hex head. However, they do not slide as smoothly on the T-track as flat head T-bolts. They work well in other applications like removable hardware clamps, but I prefer T-Bolts for use in T-Tracks, although they work when needed. cut with a router) and use my t-bolts in my t-rails.

  • No power

They work but see pics

The screw heads are free to rotate in the track they tighten but I doubt how well the T track holds up to serious turns. I was planning on using them to hold wood when hand planing and sanding, not sure the aluminum T track will stand up to lapping of screw heads but they work fine for a light hold. I can look for other screws to use with larger heads that can be filed to fit and hit more top rail surfaces.

Excess plastic in the thread

Bolts turn in the caterpillar. This is not the main question. On 8 out of 10 grips, my grips would not tighten more than a few turns. Plastic is pressed into the thread. I broke a toothpick trying to remove it. I have to find another way. I can't use a wrench, I'm sure the nuts will come out. Skip these guys. Edit: I spent 2 hours using another pick and Xacto knife to remove all the excess plastic. Fingernail-sized pieces of plastic protruded from them. Although now they work very smoothly.

A nice set of T-Track pens for your projects!

This is a complete set of grips for use with T-Tracts OR whatever! They are a good size for a larger pen in your projects. They are made of high-quality hard plastic with an aluminum insert. The handle is textured on the outside and the insert appears to have been part of the injection process. So you get 10 complete pens at a reasonable price to justify having them on hand when you feel the "power" to want to build greatness! They arrived on prime and on time as described. Relax!

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results

  • Crumpled

Good quality, suitable for carpenters

I am a hobby carpenter. I built a jig that would require a T-rail and some handles. Since I have a 3D printer I was able to make my own pens. But sometimes the time and expense, and your enthusiasm, outweigh the DIY. So I decided to order this set of handles and screws. I ended up using 3 of those knobs and screws "as is". I used 2 more handles and bought shorter screws for a different attachment. Good quality. Check out the great pen prices and I think you will buy something like this. 1/4-20โ€ฆ

Not compatible with rails sold by the same company

I gave this product a A to give my opinion. I purchased these handles with nuts and bolts along with guides for my router blade that I added to my jet table saw. The problem is that these screws had to be replaced with round head pan head screws that had to be ground to fit the rail groove. Wow what a hassle after spending money on two items that need to be compatible. Powertec does not offer a grip system for its rail. Not very convenient and smart. After a trip to the store I was able to putโ€ฆ

T-rail hanging on power tools

I liked these handles and bolts except the heads don't hang well in the T-rail so made my mount with that, not easily adjustable . The screws are standard 1/4-20 and although they match the material of the T-track, the hex tips will hook into the walls of the T-track. Also, the heads are thick enough to be hung, so stepless panty adjustment is not possible. After figuring out why they are hanging, I sanded down the corners of the hex heads. They still tended to sag, so I cut off about half theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • A few minor things

The nut in this handle is not pushed in, but comes out when pulled.

Really nothing but friction keeps the nuts in place. Over-tightening the handle will only pull the nut out of the handle, and then the handle will disassemble and everything that was holding on to it will be completely destroyed. The nut stays on the bolt, but the handle falls apart in your hand, leaving the nut behind. The product design needed to better handle the implanting or molding of the nut into the handle so that it would not come loose from the handle simply by tightening beyond theโ€ฆ

Hex bits are larger than standard 1/4 bolt and will not fit T-rails

One of the primary uses of this kit is for use in T-rails that accept 1/4-20 bolt heads for use with Clamping jigs on work tables, CNC spoiler boards, drill tables, etc. Unfortunately, the hex screw heads included in this set are NOT suitable for this purpose. The UNC specification states that the hex head for a 1/4"-20 screw should be 7/16" (or 11.1125mm) cross section. The screw heads that came with this kit varied greatly in size (not a good sign to start with), but they were ALL oversizedโ€ฆ
