The best cheap bolt guard you can buy.

Your door's weak point is in the strike plate, not in the bolt. This cheap product with extra long hardened screws that go deep into the double vertical 2 x 4 posts behind the front that you can't see is amazing! (Remember to level and pre-drill first to avoid splitting.) To pry my latch out, you know? You better have a Sherman tank and fold the whole steel door in half to gain access. Conclude. The weak part of your deadbolt lock is the strike plate and the screws. This plate and screws areโ€ฆ

This plate is a replacement for the standard plate which was attached with 2 very short screws. The plate comes with 4 pieces. 3 1/2" screws and 2pcs 1" screws. Longer screws not only secure the panel in the door frame but also in the door frame, making the door more secure. Just one small problem. The panel itself is not as heavy as we would like it.I installed a protection plate on the same door and the protection plate is much thicker.Overall much more secure than the standard plate thatโ€ฆ

The striker plate was slightly offset, just a tiny bit, so trying to move it a hair's breadth meant drilling two more holes JUST a hair's breadth from the current holes. Any attempt would only enlarge the existing holes. This product - longer than it should be but the perfect width for interior doors and a labeled safe - has been a boon for my plain interior doors. I could position it so that the doorknobโ€ฆ

Went like clockwork!

I am very satisfied with the latch bolt. They removed the old slab and marked the places where the new slab will stand. I immediately noticed that the screws on the old plate were 3/4" long compared to the 3" on the new one. Revain states that it comes with (6) 3" screws, but that didn't make much of a difference. What was better for me was the packaging and the size of the screws I received. If you do NOT want to break the screws you will need to drill a pilot hole smaller than the diameter of
