I love this turntable!

I was looking for a black TT but couldn't beat the price with an acrylic screen. I'm very happy with it and it was a big improvement over the entry-level Sony I started with. Keep spinning the vinyl!

Great sound, nice turntable

The other review here is so stupid I had to post it myself. That's a nice player. Very good workmanship, simple assembly and great sound. This is an Essential III with an upgraded acrylic rim and a beautiful finish. Sounds great with the OM10 (which comes very close to the esteemed Red 2MM). If you're a Beatles fan and need a record player, this is a no-brainer.

I liked it but there was engine noise.

I've had the player for about a week. I loved the way it looked and sounded (great cartridge). But it started making a whirring engine noise. Not sure why, I guess things happen. I still think it's a superbly made turntable. I just want the store I bought it from online (not Revain) to offer me another turntable instead of refunding the purchase price.

A wonderful introduction to the right turntable to spoil your vinyl

I love the quality and the wonderful sound that comes through this new turntable with Ortofon cartridge pre-installed. I bought a matching MM phono stage and hooked it up to my Sony A/V receiver. A huge improvement over the cheaper USB player. Easy setup for a manual system with fewer moving parts. Pretty easy to set up with the instructions. It's easy to check your work with the tutorial on YouTube. Wonderful. Be sure to use a ground wire!

Incredible performance.

This is the first quality turntable I have ever owned and reviewing old records (mostly classics) has shown that surface noise and scratches are kept to a minimum and playback is completely silent is. No more fiddling with sensitive grounding wires like with my old Technics. The first record I tried was a DG recording of Mahler's Ninth Symphony with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Giulini. The Ortofon pickup reproduces great-sounding bass and strings. The project deserves 5 stars…

Cons
  • So far so good

Solid construction, GREAT sound. The acrylic panel makes it great! 1 star off for the cover. I compare it to my Uturn Orbit. This cover is very easy to remove and sits slightly backwards when in an upright position to prevent gravity from accidentally falling forward. Putting the lid on with this turntable takes longer and in the upright position you have to be able to rely on the hinges not letting the lid fall back. Over time, these loops loosen, and then it becomes a problem. You should have
