Good but not as pictured

This is a measuring cup but I bought it because it says ALL PYREX in capital letters indicating it is an old Pyrex formula. When I got it it was a new useless Pyrex formula written in lower case. Why buy Pyrex if it breaks? The seller really needs to fix the main image, this is false advertising and a waste of time looking for an older version of Pyrex.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Some flaws

The Pyrex quality you know and love! We bought this to replace our old Pyrex measuring cup which was shattered in a collision with a cast iron Dutch oven. I didn't think we could break any of them, but let the teenager do the impossible. I've had an old measuring cup for 20 years, and barring another encounter with an overly ambitious young chef, I expect a new one to last the rest of my life.

Works perfectly! Best in Kitchenware & Gadgets

Works great! Very legible and clean. Seems very strong. I can recommend it. Our only complaint would be the packaging of the first ones we ordered. It arrived badly broken without the necessary protection for the shipping glass. However, they gave us a refund (they couldn't replace them at the time, so we had to re-order). I spoke to a Revain representative so we didn't have to send the broken one back. It was a security risk and UPS didn't want to be dealt with, let alone who unpacked it. It…

Basically great but drools unless poured slowly

My 1980's Pyrex glass measuring cup is one of my most useful kitchen utensils so I finally bought this 4 cup Pyrex cup. It is durable, easy to read and can be used to measure hot liquids. My biggest frustration is that you have to pour 4 cups of liquid very slowly. The filler design is quite narrow, so if you pour too quickly, the liquid will spill out and spread all over the counter. This is my first time using a large measuring cup, so this is probably familiar to most users. I'm sure I'll…

Good solid product Pyrex

I cook a lot and this larger measuring cup doubles as a measuring tool and mixing bowl. I have a favorite stainless steel mixing bowl, but often need a second bowl. The advantage of this measuring cup is that it serves a multipurpose purpose. The markings are clear and easy to read and dishwasher safe. The only thing that bothered me was that it was too big for my closet, but I found a place and keep my little pyrex measuring cups in it so it saves space. I'm glad I bought it. I therefore…

decoy tactics. Not the classic PYREX borosilicate.

Although pictured on the product page as a classic pyrex measuring cup in capitals, a smaller pyrex glass in lower case is actually sold as supplied. (See the difference in the attached photos of my shipment and the image on the product page.) To keep it short, here's the backstory: Corning Glass invented the classic formula for exceptionally strong borosilicate glass that was later used for PYREX products in 1915. This formula is sold out. in 1998 and, oddly enough, is now only widely used in…
