Works great but having bought it I can say with confidence that you don't need it to bake a cake. You can use any microwave safe container and add the cake mix. If you do this, you don't have to fiddle with the meter. Just make a box mix and pour just half into a container, then microwave for about 5.5 minutes. The cake comes out great and is usually around 2-2.5 inches high. Very good for omelettes, pasta and rice.
