I bought 4 pieces and charged them with a 5V charger for an old cell phone. Charger not provided. There are three settings: On/Off/G. The G setting is for motion detection. The lights are magnetized and will still be metal or attached to strips. I use them in a dark pantry and they make a lot of light for that purpose. After only 2 months of use, and by "use" I mean they sit in the closet in OFF mode and only manually turn them on when we need them (so 2-3 times a week for a total of less than a minute ).
