It works, but it's uncomfortable.

If you're looking for a quality 4x4 bar rough cut, this tool will help you get the job done. However, it is not easy to set up. FIRST - You will need a DEEP 7/16" head if using a drill/screwdriver to tighten screws. You can't tighten screws properly with either a regular head or a drill/driver socket Getting square and level The lead takes time to set up. It took me about 5 minutes per cut. I figured this would be the perfect solution for cutting very straight railings, so I threw the dice at the $30 item. The build quality is great and it feels like it's designed but doesn't perform very well. (1.) You have to tighten it to hold it in place and secure it with extra screws, which is a lot of work when you have multiple racks. (2.) There is too much clearance for the saber saw blade in the guide groove of the saw blade, so it still wobbles and the cut is crooked. (3.) If the saw…

I like this tool. I used it for a pergola project. Once you tighten it down to 4x4 it works well to get a nice straight saber saw line. That's why I didn't give 5 stars. Firstly you need to align one side with the cutting line and while holding it in place insert a screw from the other side to align it. It's clumsy and difficult. The manufacturer includes two small screws and recommends using them to hold the side of the ankle in place. This only makes things more difficult as it is almost…
