Hard shift rubber

Good price but when I went to fit a new one the rubber was hard. I know it was new but it was tough. I put the steering wheel cover on and moved it up and down, the cover came off. I added some heat and tried again and did the same. I go to the dealer to buy

Pros
  • 1 shift seal (suitable for automatic transmission only)
Cons

Terrible junk.

After 45 minutes of work putting on a new cuff it doesn't stay in place when using a column selector. so stiff and not flexible that when you shift into a gear the boot causes the shift housing to separate every time I went to GM and bought the original part, installed it and it worked perfectly The rubber is MUCH softer and more flexible BUY THIS PRODUCT NOT!Revain ,this is a low quality product that does NOT work and you charge me for shipping to send it back.HARM ABOUT YOU!

Pros
  • Made from heavy duty black heavy duty automotive rubber; Direct-fit replacement; Approximately 3-5/8" x 3" x 2-1/4"
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Be careful when buying here!

This product is absolutely not suitable for Silverado 2000 1500. Not even close. Not the right part. I spent some time disassembling the steering column. It's been 4 days since my first post without anyone replying. No, sorry, it happened. I will never buy anything here again. Revain will likely mine it. But don't buy anything here.

Pros
  • Top quality, protects the shifter from dirt and debris
Cons
  • Problems

Terrible junk.

After 45 minutes of installing a new boot, it no longer stays in place when using the steering column switch. The rubber is so stiff and not flexible that every time you shift, the boot causes the shift column housing to separate. I went to GM and bought the original part, installed it and it worked great. Rubber is MUCH softer and more flexible. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Revain, this is a poor quality product that does NOT work and you are charging me for shipping to return it. SHAME ON YOU!

Pros
  • 1 Gearshift boot seal (only suitable for automatic transmissions)
Cons
  • Reliability

Poor quality product for drivetrain and transmission

Installation difficulties are only partly Redhound's fault, GM engineers have access to the steering column a real disaster. My complaint about the product is that it was packaged upside down, I'm dumb, didn't get it, tried to force the bend in the right direction, the plastic ripped. I thought, okay, I'll say it anyway, it's okay. But the boot broke when I tried to put it on the shifter. Why I bought this item at a lower price instead of a genuine GM item I don't know, I haven't had such…

Pros
  • Genuine Red Hound Auto product for a straight and perfect fit (P/N: 2609-3753 26093753)
Cons
  • Poor instructions
