Do yourself a favor and buy a limit switch pack instead.

I had a lot of fun figuring this out and it cost me a lot of money assuming the wiring was straight, stupid of me. The RAMPS wiki talks about connecting C to Gnd and Sig to NC. The supplied wiring harness is red/black/white. The board on it, with straight wires provided, connects NC to Gnd, NO to 5V, and C to S. ? So it looks like they are upside down too. Don't you expect red to go to 5V, black to ground? I think I cut the circuit board and connectors from these supplied parts and wired them…

Copper iron wires

later I was surprised to find this out after searching for magnetic copper all my life. I use a magnetic tool to pick up nuts and bolts and was amazed when my magnet caught a wire harness, so I investigated further and found that the wire itself was magnetic. I believe that even adding 1 lb of copper to 2000 lbs of steel seriously destroys the structural integrity of the end product. This makes these "copper" wires very brittle. limit switches work great, LED indicators show when the limit switch has been actuated.
