Q - Although the replacement fuel cap fits well, the engine light on the dash is still on. Do I have to go to a Dodge dealer to turn it off?

Perfect for gas cap

I bought a new cap because my check engine light was on. From experience I wanted to replace the gas cap. It fitted my Grand Caravan perfectly and the check engine light went out within a week.

Broken after 2 months

Received the cover and mounted it very easily, looks like the original. Less than 2 months later the plastic holding it to the car broke when removed. It's better if you don't mind holding the gas tank cap while pumping gas.

Cap received and fitted which was very easy looks like the original. In less than 2 months the plastic holding it to the car when you take it off broke. better if you don't mind leaving the gas cap on when pumping gas.

Loose Gas Cap Warning

I bought this gas cap because our old gas cap, while working well, was looking tired and I wanted to freshen up the look. After installation, a warning about an open gas cap appeared on the dashboard. I've tried my best several times to get it working without success. My mechanic said the new cap was bad. Put the old cap back on and the warning will go away. I hate giving bad reviews but that was my experience.

Check the engine light. On the. Check the gas cap!

brand new, the price corresponds, they fit perfectly. If the Check Engine light is on but not flashing, I always check the condition of the gas cap. This should at least be an unwritten rule. A code reader is another good purchase option. Dealers in my area in Wisconsin charge $70 to use this diagnostic tool. Find the code, write it down and use all the options. BTW, the gas cap I replaced was 10 years old, original equipment. Hooray!
