54” Tough Durable Mesh Retractable Baby Gate: Indoor Safety & Outdoor Pet Dog Gate Review

This is to keep a medium sized dog (approximately 50 pounds) out of a certain part of the house. I like that it can be removed when not needed. Unfortunately it didn't work. The first time we used it it took the dog about 5 seconds to figure out that he could just slide the net underneath and walk right under. I had to go back and now we have holes in the wall and no dog guard.

We had a professional handyman to install this following the instructions. The boy tried to climb it to the top of the stairs. Of course, as soon as he tried to climb the gate, I made my way towards him, but it took me a few seconds to get to him. The gate broke in one of the connections to the wall, my one and a half year old child fell to the ground and cried. If he had fallen down the stairs, he could have been seriously injured.

I installed two of these devices for my baby. One at each end of my stairs. The assembly took longer than expected because I had to attach a wooden board to the banister on one side to attach it. We bought this gate to go between the living room and kitchen so my son doesn't have to go in the kitchen. This gate was a bit tricky to install due to our base. My husband had to improvise by adding a piece of wood to line up the top and bottom.
