does not work in the cigarette lighter

the thing is too long to connect to the cigarette lighter, it falls out. Tried with adapter, same problem. What the heck, I mean, why do something that doesn't work with a cigarette lighter?

Pros
  • worth the money
Cons
  • expensive insurance

Fuse trick but max 10 amps or it will melt

Others say regular fuses won't fit if you push them in the head with some force but put the spring in and it's fine after that . Don't run more than 8-10 amps or it will melt like a minute!

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Empty

Got what you need for power cords

If you need that Uniden style power plug, this setup is your best bet. Ready to connect to an existing or available cigarette lighter socket or 12V power supply (after removing the cigarette lighter plug). Good wire gauge. Robust construction. WINNER!

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Disappears

The cigarette lighter plug is too big.

The handle is too big for a regular (lighter) socket and pops out after a few minutes. Also, read the review on the related article stating that the fuse is not up to standard. I ended up cutting off the plug and replacing it with very old car stuff and replacing it with a built in (standard) fuse. The other end (a three prong connector) was worth saving, so I cut off the lighter end of the connector.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great

Spring too strong - power cord

. in the device. This spring makes electrical contact inside the device, at one end of the fuse. On my car, which has "sockets" instead of "cigarette lighter", this spring, which must be compressed to close the circuit, pushes the device back out of the socket and breaks the ground contact. I have to cut the wire going to the device and use the other, less strong end of the device connector that connects to the end that goes into the radio. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Jumps out of the receiver of every car I've tried it on.

Retractable. I had to cut off part of the cigarette lighter plug and put in a real one. Well in everything now that I hook it up and I have a lot of machines. Although it shouldn't. This is the first item I've bought that doesn't fit all of my cars. None will fit. It fits onto the Y-Adaptor ALMOST one-by-two, but still pops out at the slightest bump or vibration. Everything is fine now but I had to use a spare fork and I have a short fork. If I had known this I could have made this thing myself

Pros
  • AV Accessory
Cons
  • No Instructions

RoadPro is what I buy!

I bought a cigarette lighter adapter and connected the CB power cable to it. For about the same price, the 3-pin RoadPro connector saves time and effort. Works great, quality parts. I have purchased RoadPro in the past and will continue to do so. RoadPro products are sold at truck stops and therefore need to be reliable. It's good to have extra cables when transporting the CB radio from one car to another, RV or home. So you simply unplug the antenna cable and unplug the 3-pin connector from…

Pros
  • Accessories and supplies
Cons
  • Not sure

Works like a charm: Power cord

Works like a charm! I do a lot of running in the woods of the Pacific Northwest (USA), collecting soap and just poking at the same time. I've been doing this my whole life and have always had a radio so I can communicate with lumberjacks to make sure I can/will get out of their way if they go out with a load etc. I also monitor the 911 channel while I'm there to "help" when I can, where I can and relay information to the local emergency services when needed. In the past all my KBs were wired, I
