In the beginning they were very different. Slip-ons, "auto-tightening", high arch, definitely not for everyone. However, for me, after getting over the initial "what the hell am I wearing?" factor, these shoes are probably the best shoes I've ever owned. That's a pretty strong statement considering I have no brand loyalty and my closet is full of shoes from top and lesser known brands that I really love. bottom line; If you have the means, try it. These shoes are very comfortable and also easy to put on. They have excellent lateral support and good cushioning. I'm pretty good at driveway basketball and used to have comfortable shoes, but they didn't have lateral support and I had trouble putting them on. This is a game changer for me. The only problem I have (well, not yet) is that they will probably wear out the tread quickly. They're some kind of foam underneath and I'm playing on rough concrete. But a small price for this comfort.

The outsole collects rocks and sticks so every time I take out the trash and go hanging on the house wall I have to go through medium sized pebbles/rocks along the way and collect all the rocks. out of my trunk before I can get back in. I agree with others, the upper part of the shoe is of very good quality, but after six months or a year the soul can no longer be whitened and really becomes kind of hard and brittle. I never wanted to run in these shoes because they didn't offer enough support.
