I have used this product for a different application and it has worked surprisingly well. I had the gearbox replaced on my car and had to change the support cross member. Exhaust pipes running through the original cross member had fixed pipe supports. The modified cross member did not rattle. I jacked up the pipes and wrapped the gasket around the pipes, using glue to hold them in place. NO MORE DIRT!

The rope itself is not bad, it has some elasticity, which allows you to pull the rope to make it a little thinner or loosen it to make it thicker. My main issue was the cement that came with it. When applied, it was very slippery, and after drying, it became covered with a hard crust. The rope quickly came loose from the lid of the smoker I had placed it on. I used this kit to repair a 7 year old Pacific Energy Alderlea T6 door seal. The instructions require that the channel in which the cable seal runs be bare metal. Not sure why this is needed as there was paint in the channel of the original door. However, I used a spoked wheel on a drill to remove any debris from the channel and then used 60 grit hand sandpaper to remove some of the paint. Remember this is wood stove paint on a very uneven cast iron surface - you won't get bare metal all over…
