It works. Comes with parts and best screws.

Bought a new desktop SSD with a 3.5" bay. It is required to convert a 2.5" SSD to a 3.5" desktop. It works. And the included screws are better than my stock screws. I'm new to computers and can tell if I can do it. So you can! Enough holes are pre-drilled to likely accommodate a wide range of different possible HDDs/SSDs. I confess that when I bought it I was afraid that the holes wouldn't fit. It didn't (pun intended). Fits perfectly on my SSD. I also bought a Sabrent hard drive enclosure toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Finally bought

  • New competitors appeared

Solid aluminum, great! However fit, hole placement.

Not for small cases as I found when installing RAM on the mATX build. Couldn't even connect SATA cables! So I thought I could raise it up but the holes don't match with four screws! So a trim tool and file came along to remove about an inch from the front and now it fits but with only two screws. It's sturdy enough to hold the SSD, and it even has threaded clearance holes on top for added weight. Builds this will again be a hit against RAM or 24 pin power so get ready to mod!

  • Annual test period
Cons
  • Zero

Who makes this company such cool stuff?!

I've worked with computers for decades, but until recently I had never heard of Sabrent. I thought it was one of those low budget producers with weird names. I WAS WRONG! These guys make GREAT, high quality products like this mount (and a number of other items I have purchased from them). This bracket is made of durable and PRECISELY machined metal. The hard drive (not included) snapped into my photos like they were made for each other. NO distortion, distortion and distortion. The finish isโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Absolute jump to the solution

After almost a year of purchase, I finally upgraded my iMac with it by installing an SSD. I used a 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD with an OWC thermal cable. Installing the drive on the bracket couldn't be easier, plug the drive into the SATA connector, turn it upside down, insert the screws and tighten. According to iFixit's instructions, the whole process takes about an hour. The mount is very high quality, which allows airflow to be recirculated and keeps the system relatively cool. I have absoluteโ€ฆ

Works great with an early 2009 Mac Pro (Mac Pro 4.1) and drive bays

Another reviewer mentioned that Revain was a complete flop and summarized a bunch of reviews for different products. Just wanted to add some positive feedback on the Sabrent 2.5" SSD Adapter I purchased. I decided to upgrade my early 2009 (4.1) Mac Pro and replace all four drive bays with SSDs. great opportunity! However, if you search for "Mac Pro" in reviews, you will scratch your head. Some people claim success. Others say it doesn't work. One review mentions making sure you choose the right

I recommend looking elsewhere.

I have used Sabrent products many times over the years and to date have never had a problem. even approximately the same quality. Today I received the adapter along with a new SSD drive. After a simple drive assembly, I installed a pair in a 3.5" bay, ran some tests, and then imaged the drive. When I unplugged the cable to move the device to another system, its permanent home, some of the adapter port data remained on the PC side in the SATA cable. It literally broke the first time I unpluggedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Install iMac Late 2013 27 " Retina Display Additional Parts Required

My hard drive on my Late 2013 27" Retina iMac, my work computer, mind you, that's why I got it desperately wanted to have it repaired. As we are still dealing with COVID, Apple facilities are taking very limited appointments so I had to do this myself. I watched tutorials on YouTube and the task of replacing an old hard drive with a new improved SSD was exciting. The description of Sabrent 2.5" SSD & SATA Hard Drive to Desktop 3.5" SATA Bay Converter Mounting Kit states that it is suitable forโ€ฆ
