Ideal for hand sanding.

This grinding wheel holder is good for hand grinding in areas where a full size electric or pneumatic grinder cannot be used. The sanding discs stay in place well and provide a smooth, even surface on which to achieve lighter or heavier sanding marks simply by holding the sandpaper in your hand. I've found them particularly useful on chair legs with both high and low spots, as you can mask the edges with sanding discs to get into hard-to-reach places like grooves in woodwork. It worked very…

I love this shop! Power Sander Parts and Accessories

This sanding block is very comfortable in my arthritic hands. Much more convenient for fine sanding flat surfaces than holding a sanding block. Very hard for sanding surfaces that need to remain perfectly flat, such as B. the ends or edges of boards or plywood. I like the ease of use of the round cover and pivoting sanding discs that I already have. I mainly use it to perfectly smooth the already good texture of board-grade plywood without the risk of cutting through thin veneer, which can…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, it's ok

Efficient and Convenient

I try to sand smooth, fairly small objects (1 square foot) although I don't think it will change my mind. The Velcro holds the sandpaper very well. Much better in my experience than a 'regular' sanding block where you fold the sandpaper around the edge and secure it with some sort of pin. Pleasant in the hand. The sanding block material itself has just the right amount for my projects. I'm glad I came across this project. Now I bought a few and just attach different sandpapers of different grit

  • Consistent Test Results

Universal as a sanding block

I used this for a water based sanding primer when I was preparing a car for painting and this hand sander comes very handy when you need it. The hook and loop hold your discs very well so you don't have to spend all your time trying to keep the paper in place. Its ergonomic handle fits comfortably in your hand and is easy to hold, and the base is flexible enough to get those slightly curved surfaces. Don't think it's flimsy, you can still get a nice smooth ride as long as you let the sanding…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine

The bottom of the sanding pad is uneven

Although I like the idea of this sanding pad, the problem is that the bottom of the sanding pad (the part where the sanding disc is attached) is not flat - it curves into a convex shape. So when you attach a grinding wheel, the only part of the grinding wheel that comes into contact with the surface to be ground is exactly the center of the grinding wheel. If you push very hard, the entire wheel will make contact with the surface being sanded, but 1) it tires quickly and 2) you'll end up…
