Although this screen looks expensive, it is a full IPS screen with full RGB spectrum and 2K resolution. All in all, a perfect 2k resolution and an incredibly crisp, bright display. I got one for free and liked it so much I ordered another one. I thought my old screens, 32 inch 1080p Samsung curved screens, were really good, but these are just amazing. I returned this item because I missed that it is not a 4K monitor. I blame myself for this, but the search for Revain is also heavily blamed because I was specifically looking for 4K monitors and for some reason this ended up in the middle of the search. After looking at many options, I clicked the Buy button on this one thinking I was buying a 4K monitor. It's a good monitor and would make a great TV. I felt this was a lure and a substitute. Edit: The coil whine was due to the audio function of the monitor. And NO, the coil howl didn't go away when I lowered the monitor volume to 0. When I used an HDMI splitter that didn't support 75Hz audio (which this monitor does), the coil howl went away completely. It was a win for me because I never use a monitor speaker anyway. The flat base has a screw that fits into the vertical part of the tower/cylinder that holds the screen. The screw is apparently 1/8 inch too long because it wouldn't go all the way in. He had no transverse thread. It seemed to go in smoothly for a while and then stop as if it hit the end of a thread/tube. While I've generally had very good experiences with Samsung monitors and televisions, this was definitely an exception. I would not recommend this monitor. The stand is broken. In particular, the problem concerns the connection between the base and the vertical part of the stand. There is only one screw connecting the two and it doesn't work. I expected more from one of the largest LCD panel manufacturers in the world. I'm not very picky about my screens, but this one sucks. Colors are yellowed and text is fuzzy. After 20 minutes of color correction adjustment, everything works perfectly. Where it doesn't fit is the HDR management. I have 4 different setups between my work pc, living room setup, bedroom setup and now home pc. All different TVs/monitors. The quality of the display, i.e. brightness, contrast and color reproduction, is miserable. It's obviously not a 4K monitor, but by comparison, my same-priced Dell 27-inch monitor blasts the pants out of this one. I really like this monitor. The built-in USB ports were a big plus for me. The only issue preventing me from giving it 5 stars is that mine came out of the box with a small patch of dead pixels on the top left of the screen. I've tried squeezing with a damp cloth while turning the monitor on and off, but I can't solve the problem.
