I bought these sheets of sandpaper to level my planer and sharpen the blade but when wet they curl up and become completely useless as in Fig. It may be fine if you use them in a block, but otherwise they are of poor quality and of little use, like wet sandpaper.

Big size for sharpening chisels. Much less wasted sandpaper. Versatile: from sharpening to restoring headlight lenses, body work and anything that requires fine-tuning. Use wet or dry. I like to use water or WD when sharpening or water when restoring headlights. These abrasives give good steel a mirror finish.

I like to sharpen knives and use sandpaper to remove deep scratches to give the edge a mirror finish. I use 50-300 grit diamond stones and then move on to 400-5000 grit sandpaper with aluminum blanks attached with double sided tape. It makes the blades of my knives look polished and the sharpness is like hair.

This sandpaper works great dry or when used in small strips when wet, but as another reviewer notes, it curls up when you use the whole Wet sheet making it hard to use unless you secure both ends. Anyone looking to lay it flat and use it to sharpen something wet will be disappointed. Otherwise good paper for the money.

I needed these for a complex project and they arrived quickly and on time. I sharpen my homemade axes and hunting knives for their first and last blade steps. They were held by two knives and an ax blade. I only used one pad for each step and I think they had sand left over to do it again. Good deal at $13.99

Backing paper dissolves quickly when sanding wet but is great for sanding dry. I will use them to clean up my 3D prints. Decent grit selection but definitely not the highest quality. They may have just been in the bag too long and moved around a lot, but some of the sheets had a very uneven texture, especially around the edges. Bought these to sharpen my woodworking knives (carver, hatchet, chisel, spoon knife, etc.). Just started this today. I just cut them in half, attach them to a piece of glass so I have a flat surface, and the plates are as good if not better than any other brand I've used. For a coarser grit, at least 400-1000, I can make two blades for each half of the strip (unless the blade in question is badly damaged, of course).
