Sharpening my blades

Bought these to sharpen my woodworking knives (carver, hatchet, chisel, spoon knife, etc.). Just started this today. I just cut them in half, attach them to a piece of glass so I have a flat surface, and the plates are as good if not better than any other brand I've used. For a coarser grit, at least 400-1000, I can make two blades for each half of the strip (unless the blade in question is badly damaged, of course). I don't want to mislead anyone, so I'm relatively new to woodworking for the sake of transparency. I've been using the wet/dry sandpaper method of sharpening for a little over a year, with a brief hiatus last winter. So I'm no expert, but experienced enough to say that the price for 10 leaves (well, a little better than 1/3 of a full leaf) of each bean is hard to beat. (I've had curl problems with every brand I've ever bought. I just have to pinch the paper when it gets wet). I hope this helps and I will delete if I find I have given an inaccurate review
