I bought a product that I don't need at all. I can't program the key as I only have one working key so I bought these keys to start with. It's awful and I'm going to tell everyone I know so they don't get taken away like I did.

I bought them for my VW Routan, took them to the dealer to have them programmed (the only place they can program them) and after waiting hours to program them they told me that only the panic button worked; None of the door lock, door or trunk open buttons worked. I've been told that the success rate after selling keychains is less than 50%. Now I have to pay $190 to buy it from the dealer. Brilliant.

I bought it for my city and country in 2012 with the understanding that I can program it myself. Turns out you can't! First, older Town & Countrys seem like you can program them if you have two good keys (if I had two good keys I wouldn't need a replacement!). Have both but they are not programmable like the previous 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. We used to be able to buy remotes and as long as we programmed 2 remotes we could program a 3rd and 4th, but that wasn't the case with this product. Update. To be honest I finally got them working after my honest mechanic took them apart and put them back together "properly". Interestingly, the dealer tried it. I'm not sure, but I've raised my rating accordingly.
