🚗 Enhance Your Double Din Installation with Scosche DDTRB Trim Ring Review

just terrible. This is a thin, shapeless sheet of plastic with two rectangles cut out. Calling this thing a "trim ring" is an insult to trim rings. If your idea for "fixing broken taillights" is to cover the hole with colored tape, you might be fine with this cheap junk. I returned it.

Does not fit dual size head unit. I had to remove the center plastic piece to find out, so I can't return it now. Good thing I got it for free with gift cards. Cheap, flimsy plastic. Don't buy if you are using a full dual din main unit. Don't buy if you want a quality product. Just look elsewhere and buy a better product.

I used this to fill the gap around a Pioneer Z110BT in an Infiniti G35 with JDM double din kit. It's hard to see in photos, but this cut ring has a smooth side and a textured side. The center section is easy to cut with scissors and the sides are also easy to trim to fit different kits. Does the job it's supposed to do flawlessly.

This item is just a piece of flat molded plastic. I installed a Sony Double Din in my van and there was about 1/8 inch clearance around it. After cutting the rod in half, I slipped it over the radio. It has enough interference to stay securely on the device without glue, screws, etc. The product is very narrow, so if you need to cover more than 1/4 inch, use a wider trim ring. It looks great in my setup.

Another inexpensive SCOSCHE product and does its job perfectly! After installing my new Pioneer Dual DIN Nav/DVD/Stereo/Bluetooth deck, there was a small gap around the edges of the main unit and the custom Scosche Smart Fortwo dashboard. A little trimming with an X-Acto knife, a touch of sandpaper, and the deck fits like a glove, with a nice, very small textured area to fill in the gap. I bought this for my 2006 G35 with JDM double din kit. I'm pretty sure this isn't the intended application, so it needs some modifications to make it work. You need to cut out the middle part as well as the bottom part. The sides are also too wide and should be tapered. Unfortunately, the top of the fairing isn't high enough, but it's not too noticeable when viewed from a normal seating position. Sleek textured finish, thin edges. Used in a Pioneer double din radio. I used it anyway because it filled in the gaps a bit. For $4 I think it's ok but if they just made it bigger and less stiff it would be 5 stars.
