This is NOT silver and mine arrived damaged.

The color is not worth it! Believe me. The product says silver but it's more like Gunmetal Gray. If your trunk interior is Gunmetal Gray, great, get that. If it's a Silver, like all Tacomas, then it's going to look like crap in your truck. Also, it arrives in a plastic bag and mine was damaged on the visible edge by a large chip of paint. So this product was not suitable for my needs anyway. I don't care about the picture. Came out of the bag, I gasped at the chip and paint as I pulled the case

Poor floor for radio

I bought this kit and loved it until I put my new Pioneer DEH-4300UB radio in it. I found that pressing the buttons on the bottom of the radio was difficult because of the boundary between the radio bay and the pocket. If this rim was flush with the radio bezel instead of flush with the dashboard, this would not be a problem. Look around for Tacoma radios and you'll see what I'm talking about. . If your radio does not have bottom buttons then this kit will likely fit. I sent this kit back andโ€ฆ

Very nicely designed product!

I bought this Scosche install kit to install a Pioneer head in my 2008 Tacoma. The unit is built exactly like the factory part it replaces and almost exactly matches the color of the dash on my truck. Using this device and the Scosche wiring harness adapter, I installed my new radio in less than an hour and a half. The only small improvement they could make (IMO) would be to use a piece of non-slip material for the bottom of the storage space under the radio, but I'll be using some of the stuff

  • This is amazing

Works but ugly

I installed this unit in my Tacoma 06 with a JVC-R900 deck. The platform and stock hazard lights fit in nicely (although this unit is a pain in the rear trying to get out of the stock mount). There are no factory dimples on the mount, but the color matches very well. The only real issue I have is that there is nothing to secure the mount at the top, just four 10mm factory screws at the bottom. This also applies to the factory radio, but this device does not fit either. The upper part moves aโ€ฆ

A good product! for car and automobile electronics

This product is a pretty good kit. Fit was great, holds stereo well, color is slightly different from factory but hard to tell. For real! Just so you know, I originally ordered a Metra kit for this truck. The Scosche kit is absolutely undeniable. Day and night are better than Metra. Metra would not allow me to use a factory DIN socket with my stereo, which I admit I like to do when installing stereo. So I had to try the "hard" mount method. Metra doesn't have the screws needed for this in theโ€ฆ

Only thing I have found to replace the crappy head unit in my Tacoma

Toyota made sure that audiophiles and people like me who just want a little more functionality in their mobile protective armor (truck ) want to have are upset. My Tacoma's built-in stereo was fine. not the best, had a decent radio, decent cd, decent sound. but I wanted more, aux-in, mp3-cd, HD radio and maybe better sound. However, Toyota decided to make a proprietary stereo system with a molding around the unit. Most cars and trucks have a standard din or double din mount. I looked around atโ€ฆ

Ideal for cars and automotive electronics

This is a pretty cool dashboard replacement. The trim matches the dash perfectly and I like the unstructured look as opposed to the stock textured look. Installation was easy. The only thing that bothers me is that the front pocket could be made a little better. It's fully functional, but something like a material like rubber used to be a good way to line the inside. However, it's okay. Also, there are two holes on the back of the bag that I routed an extra cable through to hide it. Itโ€ฆ
