    Great Fit!: Car & Auto Electronics

    I just installed a SONY XAVAX1000 on my 2007 Toyota RAV4 with this dash kit and it couldn't be easier. Installing the receiver in a double DIN slot was easy and seamless. The kit sits flush with my car's dashboard and looks factory made. Great price and high quality product.

    Not Bad, But Not Great: Car Electronics Accessory

    Fits my 2012 Rav4 V6. As everyone said, there is a gap below. The gap doesn't bother me. I found installation instructions from other users on the forums so I knew what I was getting into. The plastic is not the same as the original plastic but looks ok. Overall I would take it again but mostly because there are no other options lol.

    Fitted well may need other brackets

    Used to install a Sony XAV-AX5000 on my 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport. I ran into a problem when the brackets from this kit when installed on the side of the radio protruded too far preventing the double din cover from fitting the radio snugly. I originally ordered Crutchfield's Metra kit, which sucked for the most part, but the brackets were flat and had no burr, so using them solved my installation problem.

    It turned out great and fit perfectly.

    I was afraid to buy this as I saw a lot of people saying they had a gap underneath after installing. Not sure if anyone knows but the original brackets were used on the side of the stock radio and had no gap. However I ran into a new problem and it was that when using the metal brackets the stereo mounted far from the dash so I ended up using some washers behind the screws to align it but in the end I got the perfect fit and it looks great.

    Excellent but there are gaps

    Overall I am very happy with this product. It was a fairly easy replacement to assemble and install on my 08 Rav4. I used an old Alpine UTE-42BT single DIN head unit and it looks really great and I'm enjoying upgrading the standard unit. Getting these mounting hardware to match the main unit and storage compartment was quite difficult, but it was the hardest part of the installation. Due to the way the top and bottom of the large fairing fit together, I had to fit it into the dash and there are

    Some drilling is required for a good fit

    If you use the standard mounting holes with a square HU, the HU will not sit flush with the faceplate. It's functional, but it didn't seem good enough to me. Modifying the holes with a Dremel tool so the HU is flush with the faceplate greatly improved the look. I had the same gap mentioned below but it was not visible to the driver or passenger around the corner. The color matching depends on the lighting. In low light it looks like the perfect combination of light gray on the underside of theโ€ฆ

    The front bevel matches the standard radio lines more or less perfectly - everything looks good when you have everything in place. Supplied with drawer for single size units. The main part of the block consists of three parts - two sides and a front part. The awkwardness of installation is that these three pieces fit together like a jigsaw puzzle, but can easily fall out if you try to fit the main unit in between. This would probably be a lot easier for single din units as you could install aโ€ฆ

    What others say about it really leaves a gap. For me it was just a choice between a gap at the top and two lugs that don't snap into the dash at the bottom (I went with the gap at the bottom). I wish I had taken photos when I installed it, but my focus was on the stereo and steering wheel control adapter. It consists of several parts: the main front panel, left and right side panels (brackets), a bag, a radio trim ring and a screw pack. The product photo shows the main front panel andโ€ฆ
