Better than velcro when you need a secure fit

Definitely safer than velcro and better for anything that needs to be put on and taken off frequently. The strips are easy to cut and are better than using duct tape if you don't intend to use a lot of it. The main disadvantage compared to velcro is that they require more force to attach as you have to snap them into place. . They also require more force to remove and need to be attached to something relatively strong.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

love these things! Forgot Velcro!

Velcro fastener forgotten. These locking clasps are 10 times better. Be sure to clean both surfaces with alcohol and let dry. In addition, the following should be obvious. Just look out for the tree. As with other similar products, do not use on waxed surface items. Painted walls are also not recommended. Just some thoughts. (and yes, I've tried waxed wood on a set without a second thought. It doesn't do anything to the wood. It just doesn't stick and will ruin the strip)

A simple solution to optimize TVs

I attached a Roku device with 2 squares of 1 inch to the bottom of the TV. Be sure to check placement before gluing the squares. I almost started pushing it against the wall until I realized I couldn't because of the two cords on the back. I just did this so can't comment on its durability but the clasps seem to be holding up great. FYI I bought a fabric chain and cord cover that almost matched my wall color to hide all the black cords. Looks great and frees up a dresser for decoration. Should…

Ideal for attaching an extension to a surface.

I have one of these IKEA Kallax 2 x 4 shelving units next to my desk. I also have a splinter behind these shelves. I used to just run an extension cord through one of the shelves to plug it in, but that was painful and took up a portion of the shelf I could use. That's when I got the idea to just attach it to the shelf itself! Voila, easy access to the cord with a detachable extension cord (in case I need it). The handle is strong enough to pull the plug out of the socket. I'm pretty sure I'll…

Useful fasteners - stronger than velcro

My beloved Lexus RX-300 has a typical annoying problem. After years of use, the driver's side sun visor begins to sag and not stay in the "up" position. Replacements are available, but the cost doesn't make sense for a 20-year-old SUV. A couple of 35mm strips of this 3M tape did the trick. one piece on the back of the visor and one on the ceiling. I've used self-adhesive Velcro on many projects, but this 3M product is much better. Unlike Velcro, there are no "male or female" finishes. All of…

I love these fasteners

I love her. I have a hem for the screen mesh on my canopy. Holds up well but not good enough for what I wanted as the fasteners will be missing rain and weather all summer long. The netting was attached to the top of the canopy and was made of vinyl fabric or possibly tear material. But I bought some Goop Marine glue off Amazon. and put this on the clasps and fastened them again. and now they are perfect. I LOVE these fasteners so much better than Velcro. They click together and you can hear…
