Scotty Post Bracket Sounder Mount Review

I've given a 3 for the design because it's chunky but it's not as shown in the pictures. The device looks like you could screw it onto any base, but it's fairly hollow at the top and can only use pre-formed screw holes. I return mine.

This Scotty Post mount was used to mount my Garmin Striker 5dv viewfinder. The outer holes matched perfectly, but I had to enlarge the Garmin mount holes a bit to fit the #10 screws. The Scotty mount requires #10 nuts to keep it from turning. Ideal!

I had to install a Hummingbird 678c on the nose of my 13 foot Boston Whaler. It already had a female Scotty deck mount that I wanted to use. This bracket appears to be very strong and works well for flush mounting on a Scotty 244 deck. However, some important things to know before you buy: It was mentioned that it does NOT have a solid top as shown. It has a hollow top with multiple screw holes.
