Seachem Reef Dip CAN'T DO WITHOUT

Words of Wisdom: Always dip your coral, even if you think you see nothing wrong with it. The instructions on the bottle are clear and simple, and if you ever need assistance you can always call or email Seachem. Their customer service is on par with Revain. 5 star company, so obviously a 5 star product!

Good to Have About

Iodine Solution can be one of the most important tools for reefers who need to be prepared for anything, whether it's post fragging, acquiring new coral, or just coral maintenance. that have been damaged. An amazing product when used in combination with other coral sauces when introducing newly purchased coral.

Ounce of Prevention

I am new to reef keeping but have used this product to dip all my new corals before putting them in the tank and have not had any hitchhiking issues so far. You need to put a gallon of aquarium water in a clean container and then soak the cuttings. I definitely found a few hitchhikers at the bottom of the trash can when I finished soaking.

Pros
  • Pretty Packaging
Cons
  • Safety

Good, mild aquarium water treatment

Actually just iodine. I used it with a vengeance to sink all new corals including LPS, SOS and softies. I even dipped an anemone with a bubble tip which did a great job. It was just closed but reopened immediately. This is a softer dive and should not be used, if you think there are indeed vermin in there, a more intense dive (like Bayer) should be used, it will not kill their tormonts or similar, you still need to isolate corals!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I'm amazed the torches look as good as they are.

Just used on 2 sick torches and about 15 new corals from a trade meet. Sick Torches had little red "bugs" that popped out after being dunked in the tub and lightly watered with an eyedropper. I'm amazed the torches look as good as they do now. It's been a week since I've dived her. Numerous other evil bugs have emerged from coral. Everything looks happy and healthy. I won't go without swimming anymore!

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Not as thick as other pickaxes

Used on 2 separate occasions

First dive was for Cyphastrea and Zoanthid. I used the recommended amount and went down for 15 minutes while monitoring. I didn't notice most of the swimmers in the water, but a small bristly worm was knocked out during the procedure. After that, they were washed twice in salt water from the designated reservoir. I haven't noticed any side effects. The second dive was a 30 minute dive for Euphyillia (Hammerhead Shark). On this dive I used and fired a syringe. All three corals are doing very…

Pros

Cons
  • Quality

Works great when diving into new coral to remove pests. I will say that Coral RX appears a bit stiffer/stronger, when new corals are dipped in Coral RX all the pests fly away immediately, it takes a few minutes with this product for the effect. Overall a great coral bath that I use with every coral I buy. I will note that, for lack of a better term, I "burned" Zoa and Pale Yellow with Coral-Rx even after following the directions. The corals did not die, but they flaked off before opening a week

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost OK
