You can easily keep people out the door. I overslept the day I was supposed to visit my family. They couldn't get in even though 1 member had the key. I love that it has helped increase the safety of people living alone.

Love it! It was so easy to put together and so easy to use. The reason I bought this? I locked myself out of the house - my nephew walked in and used the broomstick to reach the dog door and turn the handle. It worked, but it would have worked for a burglar without a security bolt.

I live alone in an apartment with lots of people going in and out at all hours of the day. I wanted something to reassure myself that my door is secure. I'm in a very safe environment and haven't had any issues but who knows when I saw this security gate I thought it was logical, inexpensive and practical for my needs. Rod is included two metal tubes that fit inside each other, with retractable pins on the inner tube that match holes on the outer tube. This allows you to adapt the bar to your door. I bought this rod for a sliding glass door. (I've been burgled in the past and the intruders gained entry through a sliding door.) I had a hard time making a board the right length so the door wouldn't open wide enough to allow access enable. I finally got it working, but not without frustration.

I'm not quite sure if it actually prevents jamming will this burglary, but it will help my daughter and her room comply with the established "night lock" regime: go down the apartment, lock the bars on the front and back doors, and put on jam sticks. my friend had a more powerful version of this and I wanted something like this as I've recently been living on my own. This option seems cheap. It's thin and light, the foot doesn't hold up well. It looks and feels like it wasn't designed at an angle and the fit isn't tight which makes a big difference in how well it can hold your door. The distance between the dive pegs is long enough that I end up with an awkward angle on my door. All of this would be forgivable if the door didn't open, but…
