Description of 🌲 High-performance SGT KNOTS Hollow Braid Dyneema Rope – Ideal for Arborists, Boating, Camping, Crafting (7/64", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4")

Hollow Braid Dyneema is a lightweight and flexible 12-strand cord that is stronger than paracord, and perfect for a wide range of indoor and outdoor uses, including lifting slings, stabilizing slings, towing lines, mooring lines, water applications, winches, stage and theater rigging, and halyards. Dyneema Strength: Built from Dyneema, a durable synthetic fiber that floats on water and features excellent abrasion resistance, low-stretch performance, flex-fatigue resistance, and an unparalleled strength to weight ratio. At an average tensile strength of 1,600 pounds, Dyneema is 15 times stronger than steel in a weight to weight comparison!. Whoopie Slings: Dyneema is easy to splice and commonly used by crafters, survivalists, backpackers, and campers to make the versatile and easily adjustable whoopie sling, which are extremely popular for hammocks, floating chairs, arborist projects and tree care, keychains, guy lines, drawstrings, and cargo tie-downs. To create a whoopie sling, use a needle to feed one end of the cord into the hollow space of the other. Exertion will create a Chinese finger trap style constriction lock. Availability: Choose between pre-cut lengths 25ft, 50ft, 100ft, or 600ft. Diameter options: 7/64", 1/8", 3/16", or 1/4". Offered in (7) different colors: Black, Blue, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, and Yellow. Veteran Owned & Operated: Just like the Marine Corps, SGT KNOTS is committed to be the best of the best. We continue to live by the motto, Semper Fidelis-Always Faithful. Our loyalty to our customers is what makes us who we are, and the reason we continue to grow in popularity and product offerings. Ideal for making bracelets, necklaces, soft shackles etc.

I love the strength and ease of working with Dyneema rope. As you work with it, the color fades leaving a silvery look. So buy silver gray if you don't want a deletion to happen.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • So far so good

Paint is peeling off my hands

This Amsteel was just what I needed to make some hardware for my hammock. I took 50ft blue and green Amsteel. The main disadvantage is that when working with this material, the paint peels off your hands very easily. Finished with blue-green hands. I hope this doesn't come off my gear and make it dirty, especially when it's raining on it. It would be 5 stars if the color didn't transfer so easily.

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • unreliable

Real 12-ply Dyneema!

Great product at a great price! I use it for the standing rigging on my sailboat so I'm very careful about what I buy. Those of you who are saying it's a fake or an eight strand, I really don't know what's wrong with you. Here is a photo showing that this is 12 strands. For those who say it's fake, this is a single Dyneema braid. Each thread is made up of hundreds of tiny threads that give it strength. There is absolutely no reason to doubt the authenticity of this product!

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Working speed

Great hammock hanger!

I have used a buckle strap hammock for many years and while I was interested in fart loops I never thought it was worth the time or effort. However, Sgt Knots had a really good deal on 2.5mm Dyneema, so I figured out what the heck. I have to say that making my own whoopie slings was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The line has no stretch that I could notice (I weigh 185 pounds with another 40 pounds of gear hanging from the harness). It was easy to work with, bright colors for better…

Real Dyneema rope (or at least UHMWPE) but very dirty and sticky

I've used Dyneema rope a lot - it's light, extremely strong, easy to splice etc. This rope SGT KNOTS are real (ie real UHMWPE) and arrived neatly coiled but so sticky and dirty. I chose the silver color because I read in other reviews that the color rubs off on other colors. The silver is covered in sticky black stains that won't come off even after I wash the rope with soap and water. I suspect the black dots are from poor paintwork. Whenever I've bought Dyneema rope before (e.g. from marine…

Disappointed good product for ropes cords and straps

To be honest I wasn't 100% sure what to expect. All I know is that Dyneema is incredibly strong and light weight and I figured Dyneema rope would work well for my project. My thoughts after trying to use it. It is much thicker than expected to the touch, a feeling of swelling and a hollow design. makes cutting difficult. Scorching the end is not as easy as with other tackle materials. But the problem for me is how the paint wears down everything it touches. I have used it to attach to the back…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No instructions
