Good and good. in Rough Plumbing

For example: Shark Joint - I've never used a Shark Pex Joint before and I still can't believe how easy it is. Worth the price of admission for that alone. Dislikes: Handle and "turn". I got two of these and both "shanks" were slightly curved, so the plastic grips aren't quite square. They also have a "full" turn (not 1/4 turn like the ones I replaced). The actual grips are quite flimsy as the rest of the grips are so well constructed. I would buy again but know what you get.

Where have you been all my life?!

One of my outer tubes was leaking for a long time, but in the end it got to the point that I couldn't turn the knob far enough to stop it. Since this pipe is at the "short" end of the bypass space, you can imagine my excitement at having to replace it. After doing some research on the Sharkbite system, I pulled the trigger. Installing this spigot is one of the easiest things I've ever done. in my life (despite the fact that I'm under the house). Cut pipe to length, mark insertion depth and…

SharkBite made my faucet repair easy!

In 50 years I've been so careless I froze/broke an outside faucet twice. 25 years ago there was a painful and difficult repair with copper. That faucet, some PEX, and another SharkBite fitting for the other end made the swap easy. I cut the old copper pipe in a convenient place and added a SharkBite valve, then installed a faucet in place of the broken one, then cut the PEX to fill the gap. Copper may be cheaper, but the labor and hassle saved justifies the cost. If I freeze my faucet again in…

SharkBite technology is one of the best inventions of our generation

This is my first time using SharkBite products to replace the water valve on an indoor faucet. Then my outer hose broke and I figured I'd have to do some tedious repairs to replace the copper pipe until I stumbled upon this one from SharkBite. Great reviews don't lie. I removed the 2 screws holding my old one to the house, cut the PEX pipe inside, put this new unit in place, reinserted the 2 screws to hold it in place and replaced the blue ones Wires at the end until it was snug. Took me about…

Easy install with the right tools

When I moved in, my house didn't have an outside faucet and I'm not a plumber. I couldn't find a plumber in our area who was willing to do such a small job, so I did it myself (I have construction experience, little plumbing experience). A few important tips: Invest some money in the right tools to cut your piping, be it copper, PEX or whatever. I tried using a fine-toothed hacksaw on the PEX and had trouble with the dripping when making the joint. So I rummaged through our moving boxes until I

Great product, easy to install

I have an old house and the plumbing is outdated. The house was built before the house had internal plumbing, so all of our plumbing is scattered all over the place with no real structure. The tube breastplate was connected to a copper pipe and passed about a foot through raised stone and mortar and then another 2 feet through the heater pipes. We tried to touch the solder joints but the narrowness drove us insane, it was almost impossible. We have a Sharkbite bib, a plastic tube and some…

Great product, never again

Damn what a windowsill! This bad boy is very easy to install. Drill a hole, drop it, screw in the set screws and bam! Your filling job is done. Crawl under your house avoiding cobwebs and snails and fight a raccoon that has decided your underground is the best home for him and rush to your window sill. Throw some 1/2 inch Pex on the shark bite and you're done. Find your plumbing, cut it, wet it with water, remember you never turned off the water until you decide to tackle this item on your…
